Cowboy Bebop (TV Series) - Live-Action Remake - November 19, 2021

Tomorrow Studios, Marty Adelstein’s joint venture with ITV Studios, is developing a live-action adaptation of the cult Japanese animated series Cowboy Bebop. Tomorrow Studios has teamed on the project with Midnight Radio (Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg), who will executive produce alongside Sunrise, the studio behind the original series; Tomorrow Studios’ Adelstein (Good Behavior, Prison Break) and Becky Clements (Good Behavior, Aquarius); as well as Matthew Weinberg. Chris Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok), who started his career writing for comic book-based animated series before segueing to features, will pen the adaptation.

Well, as long as Jet is black and Ed is probably some form of middle easterner, they should be okay. Like I said in the anime section, though, I worry about how they're going to butcher Faye to ride the recent PC wave. In this case, they're probably make her a light-skinned latina just so they can claim diversity.

Otherwise, you can bet the "filler" episodes will be cut with a general emphasis on Spike/Vicious/Julia. Ed's antics will be toned down because anatomical physics. Ein will probably wind up CGI, too. Or at least partially. Basically, there're lots of little things that could go wrong and destroy the series' flavor.

Ein is a corgi, though. How he acted in the show is pretty much how they act in real life.

I know people don't want to see Cowboy Bebop's name dragged through the mud, but like, I don't think there's been a cool scifi show set in space since like.... Battlestar Galactica. I might be desperate enough to believe in this one.

Ed is most likely Turkish due to her father's name, and Faye is Singaporean.

So going off the people we have Prison Break and Good Behavior. Never heard of it. Another prime time drama apparently.
