Currently rumored to be at the Microsoft conference. Might be an XBone exclusive.
Is this the MH Frontier mmo game or just completely different?
Unknown. Thought to be the Western release of Frontier, but might be a new title. A known GAF leaker is saying that this is a XB1 game.
Nintendo's grip of MH needs to loosen anyways. Honestly stopped caring about MH w/ it always on the 3DS.
If the rumors awhile ago (open world rush job with the same level of care we've seen in titles like SFV) are what World is supposed to be, it's very likely going to be steaming hot garbage.

THIS IS THE TYPE OF MH GAME I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
5min Gameplay
I don't know what to make of that trailer, it feels like they made the combat to be your typical generic 3rd person action game, I hope it's not the case, I'll wait for gameplay videos before I get happy/disappointed.
Yeah that trailer did not do anything for me. Monster design seems super generic and dull and even though it's confirmed that all weapons will be returning I can't help but feel combat may be neutered to appease the "Western" audience that Capcom is aiming for with this release. I'm gonna need to see more monster designs besides Rathalos and generic T-rex guy and some actual gameplay before I start getting hype.
While what I would like would be MH PS2/P era engine with modern graphics, if this is what it takes to get Monster Hunter off DS/Nintendo, I'm willing to give World the benefit of the doubt.
And if it sucks, there will be Dauntless.
And remember, new engine might mean an end to Plesioth bullshit hitbox.
Looking more closely at the fat frog thing in the reveal it looks like a grassland variant of the Zamtrios. You can even see the tip of it's dorsal fin on it's back as it's rearing up to swallow whatever it has in it's mouth. Makes me a bit more optimistic we'll see more returning monsters besides the classics and hopefully means we'll still get some new monsters that are more unique than what they showed.
As far as seamless worlds goes it seems like you still have transitions between "zones" but they aren't actual loading screens anymore and instead the transitions are blocked off by water routes or thick vines that you have to swim or crawl through so you'll still have that frantic locked in arena feel to the fights.
The tracking mechanic seems rather pointless and adds unnecessary busy work to getting to the fun part of the game which is the combat. The most annoying parts of any hunt are running around like an asshole trying to find the damn thing.
Spoiler: show
I will say that I am severely disappointed, that when the trailer ends with roasting meat, THE MUSIC DOESN'T PLAY!
The japanese trailer showcases the game in a better way IMO.
Also, apparently the main team is developing this, let's see how it turns out.
It might be fun, but it's not Monster Hunter.
I guess I can at least finally have some close approximation of MH on my PC.
So it's confirmed that there will be no announcements regarding MHXX for the West at this time and that Damage Numbers are a thing in MHWorld. Capcom pulling a Portable 3rd again and killing all my hype just like the old days, I almost started to think they were finally getting there shit together.
