Still waiting on this game to be worth anything, and the fact that they can't even control when content is released is not a good sign.

You know, I played Anthem months after most everyone else quit. I wanted to "get my money's worth". But after the delay of the Cataclysm and the way they changed what the event was going to be anyway, I lost my final give a rats. I don't care what they do to this game, I'll never play it again. Too many other great unplayed games out there, or even great games to replay through. GTFO EA/BW, I'm done.
Bioware could make the greatest game of all-time, next week, and I wouldn't give them a dime for it. Literally bottom-of-the-barrel studio now in my book.
Took them this long to add a time attack mode
This was supposed to release in like April lmao. These fuckers weren't even started on it yet...
Yeah, the game was in such a great state, how did they not get this out sooner??
Oh wait..

Still no new gear or weapons, but the Halloween event has Mass Effect character cosmetics.

Bioware is planning a "XIV 2.0" for the game and may even release it as a new game. It's currently codenamed Anthem Next.
Guess i should ask, how is the game currently? I still remember playing the beta and loving the style and gameplay but the bugs etc were too much for me to bother.
Go ask the 43 people on twitch who watch one of the 12 streamers.... -_- Look, in all honesty: The gameplay/style is all there is/was to that game. Being ironman and killing stuff is a lot of fun. But that wears thin when everything else is cringe worthy. Plot, loot, hub, VA, navigation, the list goes on. It's just bad. I played with a friend of mine and that really helped because we'd laugh and groan together at everything.
If "Anthem Next" really is a huge improvement, then give it a shot. Don't bother now.
99% of players will never touch "Anthem Next" if the cost is > $0. They literally robbed their fanbase and should be shunned in the gaming community.
There were two things that stood out to me about that piece. One:
Isn't this literally what happened with the first release?A second person on the project told me yesterday they were still doing “lots of testing things out and experimentation but still nothing concrete.”
And second:
I don't see how they can expect anyone who purchased the game initially to pay more given the issues with the original product. Even if there is a steep discount, who is going to buy in again? It sounds like there's still a lot of delusion at BioWare. That said, maybe it's worth it to pick it up next time it goes on sale for $5..and it’s unlikely they’ll charge full-price to Anthem players
Can't currently open their actual site but..
https://kotaku.com/bioware-plans-a-s...hem-1841577386“Over the coming months we will be focusing on a longer-term redesign of the experience, specifically working to reinvent the core gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges and progression with meaningful rewards—while preserving the fun of flying and fighting in a vast science-fantasy setting,” Hudson wrote in the post. “And to do that properly we’ll be doing something we’d like to have done more of the first time around—giving a focused team the time to test and iterate, focusing on gameplay first.”
What an awful joke.
If they pull an ARR and succeed, then good for them. I guess if Anthem’s $5 on pc, i’ll pick it up
"We'll keep making cash shop items and rerunning old events for the indeterminable future" - Bioware
Wonder if they still plan to charge ppl who actually paid for the game to upgrade to 2.0
