The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30 (and Champs vs. Pros Discussion Thread)

I just spent way too long on this.

There's eight people left - six women and two who qualify for the mens' competition. Some of those six women are certainly likely to do well. Of those six, two are hot garbage competitively, one is a complete unknown, one is a perennial also ran, one is olde, and one seems to have trouble living up to her potential. You can make a case for five of the women (because one of the two hot garbage is a drama queen), but I think the safest bet here is the most experienced player. This will be Aneesa's eleventh challenge, and she has won less than $25,000 total (not including appearance fees), which is really kind of amazing in a Buffalo Bills type of way. She's made two finals, but none since season 17 (The Duel II). She actually had a pretty solid showing in Bloodlines, but it turns out her cousin has the upper body strength of Stephen Hawking.

Is this the year Aneesa breaks through and finally wins? Um, no. Is this yet another season where she plays the political game well, hooks up with a human of TBD gender, racks up Survival points, gets in at least one argument, and gets eliminated just before the final yet again? Probably. Is it possible she makes the final and comes in third? For sure, although I wouldn't pick it.

Aneesa seems like the safe pick here. You know what you're going to get. There's likely a ceiling on her performance, but there's also a floor that's considerably higher than that of any of the others left.

#25 - CvP was not encouraging, but there are plenty of abysmal competitors on this season. I don't know if she'll check any boxes for the drama points, but after CvP I have to think that she would have dropped from this if she didn't think she could at least hang around for a little bit with some of these freaks. Gimme Veronica.

Well, those were the other two people I was deciding from for my last pick. I was even going to post nudes of Veronica that I found while doing "research" for the last pick in honor of the XXX theme.

There's not much left. However, odds are that one of these people will end up doing very, very well for someone.

Ammo might be good for drama, but I'll be stunned if he lasts long in the game, as just about every other guy is physically imposing, and his aggressively PC attitude will probably force him into elimination quickly and repeatedly.
Simone is a camera whore but a terrible competitor. Might be good for arguing points.
Latoya is not a camera whore and a terrible competitor. Didn't she sort of almost hook up with Leroy at some point?
I have no idea bout Britni, she seems cute. Thought about drafting her for the unknown potential factor, but she apparently has a steady boyfriend from AYTO, so the odds of coitus points are slim.
Marie seems like someone who could be better than she has performed so far, and maybe this is the year she ends up doing better. She also flirted pretty heavily with Creepy Smile Boy last season, so odds are she's ready to mingle.

I'll take the possible upside combined with some experience with a touch of not completely physically incompetent and a dash of possible romance, and go with Marie.

Valisk, then Headspace, then Xno Kappa, then Moss gets one by default, and we'll be done.
