man i'm still thinking about this. it's so awful it's astonishing and so bad it's almost poetic.
shouldn't have had that shower beer
An appropriate end to our disastrous occupation.
yeah we did it on purpose
Of course, the US does that sort of thing all the time. When they can't bend a state to their will to conform enough with their agenda then they just intentionally create a failed state. So that they can operate and extract value from. Enabled between the corrupt politicians that operate in a failed state or via military contractors functioning as private security in the wild west that they create.
That is all that Afghanistan and Iraq was. An inevitable failure of a nation building project aimed at extracting value and overall furthering a hegemonic imperialistic agenda. Then when an attack happens in reprisal for the many misdeeds and suffering caused by the US around the world. It turns around and drums up support to continue the cycle and carries out more strikes to try and suppress any power in the region in response to anyone who wishes to resist hard enough.
Does anyone really think that if the US wasn't behaving in the nefarious way it does that there would have even been 9/11 or the constant threat of attacks from someone renting a truck from Home Depot to run over Americans or trying to sneak bombs in their shoes at the airport?
You can only pick one, there's no 4th option. Which hegemony would you prefer: USA, Russia, or China?
It's an honest question. Just cause america doesn't do a thing doesn't mean someone else won't come and take advantage. No choice we make domestically or internationally occurs in a vacuum, we are all only humans, we are making imperfect choices in an imperfect world, etc.

It's the turn of the 20th century. Europe is at peace outside of some shit in the Balkans. However, it is the Balkans what do we expect? Which form of hegemony do you want? French, British, Russian, Austro-Hungarian, or Ottoman? Maybe one day that America will break on to the scene with it's colonial ambitions. Only if something drastic happens though!
Lol, imperialism should be rejected no matter where it is originates. There is no "which empire do you prefer, they are all we have" about it. If a population can't even mentally reject something then what are they?
the one where US hegemony is actually the best option and that a china or russian hegemony is a nightmare that should be prevented as they are actively pursuing it.
I think what Spicy is saying is why limit ourselves when the next great calamity could allow a new hegemony to emerge [or disappear].
The next great calamity 99.999% certainly involves nukes flung around the earth. Lets try to avoid the “next great calamity”.
then dont make it sound so cool
I love that this stupid argument came from a reply to a post that was 10 months ago

It took panda to answer the question at 15:18, an easy answer for Spicy to give.
