I'd have to imagine Lacob is pretty comfortable paying it tho, the value of the franchise has gone up immensely and the Chase Center is going to absolutely print money when it opens.

they'll be OK until Klay and Green come up for contracts, if they both sign supermaxes the repeater tax is going to hit GS for like 300-400 million annually depending on what Durant does.

but they've won 2 rings in 3 years, are favorites to win the next 2 as well. grabbing 3/4 rings in a 5 year period is better than most dynasties get. just may not be together as long as people expected.

3 years might've been the only way to keep him and if LeBron leaves in a year (which they seem to be prepared for), they'll probably be tanking anyway and can play him or buy him out

Damn a lot of teams should be jumping on that. It isn't that bad of a contract and he always seemed like a good 2ND center

trust me, as a guy who watched him every game in 2015 (once he was inserted into the lineup) this guy was fucking IMPACT. defended well, had some post moves, sneaky good passer. one of those weird nba guys where good things just happen when he's on the floor. get him on a playoff team with the right pieces and he will do some big work. literally i had nothing bad to say about him, and i can't even think of any major weaknesses he has. on top of that his teammates LOVE him to death.

i don't know what minnesota's thinking trying to offload him with a pick but that's just like someone offering you money so you can take their free car.

cause doc rivers is a fucking moron. he legit had a 2nd unit that would have been terrifying on defense but he insisted on playing josh smith out of position and paul pierce/jamal crawford over guys like lance/wes johnson/mbah a moute. the saddest part of that season was never being able to see what would have been an amazing bench unit.

the only reason cole got PT was because josh smith wasn't an effective backup C (surprise?) so cole got thrown in at the end of blowouts, playing really well in garbage time.
