Everybody enjoying their humble pie? I told you this movie would be good.
Glad the movie is entertaining at least, the book is poorly written pandering garbage.
Went and saw it last night, I enjoyed myself with it. Hard to say who I would recommend it too.
I mean the movie still looks like hot garbage and I'm still not very interested in seeing it. I am actually surprised people are saying good things, but I probably won't know about it until later.
My only small gripe that I couldn't figure out and made no sense at the time but if I were to watch it again because I may have missed it was:

If you have a cinima that picks up movies 2-3 months after the release and hosts like a 5$ tuesday deal I'd say jump on it. There is also hoisting the black flag and sailing the murky and sketchy waters..
I'm waiting for a decent copy to float in.
I liked it man. Obviously many liberties were taken to make it a single movie. Enjoyed the action. I didn’t think I would like the race part but man that was fun to watch. Turn your brain off and enjoy the ride. Don’t critique the acting or dialogue or story just enjoy what you’re seeing and it’s a good time.
So it's a shit movie that looks pretty.
Everything about this movie was cringe to me, especially the part about it most likely being funded by Facebook as an attempt to reinvigorate the failing VR industry.
Except the rights to produce the film were won by Warner Brothers in an auction in 2010, before the book was even published in 2011. Before the Oculus kickstarter happened in 2012, before the company was bought by Facebook in 2014.
Facebook literally has fuckall to do with the funding or production of the film.
This movie easily could have been made into a trilogy. The spectacle is there but the story is passable at best? Idk. It was worth it to watch for the crazy sequences alone. I can't tell if the cringe moments were by design or not, being that it's based on 80's pop culture.
Also, was it just me or

If you just don't like the film, ok, sure, that's cool.
But you wanna post some astroturf lookin', baseless conspiracy shit, you can haul off to youtube.
