Girlfriend then shoots the cop with the screwdriver that was really a gun.

I don't have a problem with him waiting for a second set of hands in most cases but I've never seen anyone have to wait 9 minutes before. That's a long fucking time. It's usually only a few seconds.

It must feel longer being at the other end of a loaded barrel.

Also bane yes, deescalation is a huge issue and seems to be something you can say about every law enforcement video nowadays, but people are not reasonable. Minor traffic violation? Screaming their head off fbombing everything.

So put a gun to their head and wait until they magically calm down?

I mean its not like police are the only people who get shouted at for doing their job.

We need to deescalate this, too bad we don't have tasers!

    Context

The man was riding with a woman along Highway 101 south of San Jose on July 28 when the pair were pulled over for speeding.

Officials with the Campbell Police Department said the driver was clocked at more than 85 mph when she passed the motorcycle officer.

The couple took several minutes looking for the papers and at one point the man appeared to be reaching under the seat. That’s when the officer pointed his gun at him and held it there until backup arrived.

“I was looking for the paperwork, bro,” exclaimed the man who held his hands up and in plain sight as he protested while looking down the barrel of the weapon just a couple feet away.

“Why are you still pointing the gun at me?” he asks over and over. “My hands are right here,” he said.

The officer tells the man to relax. ‘No I’m not going to relax,” replies the man. “Get the f-----g gun off me.”

“Is that really necessary?’ the woman asks. The officer responds that it is and says he is waiting for backup.

He then tells the man that he did not appreciate him reaching for the floor.

Berg also acknowledged the unusual length of the incident, noting that backup officers had to fight through rush-hour traffic to reach the scene: “If this same situation would have occurred closer to back-up officers, it would most likely have been resolved much sooner.”

The video also is missing the conclusion of the incident, which purportedly shows the officer explain his actions to the passenger, Berg said.

“The passenger indicated he understood why it happened and actually apologized to the officer,” Berg said.

The motorists were then cited and allowed to continue their travels.

The body cam footage of the before and after the video has yet to be released.

Because he didn't even follow protocol on calling something in like that. I know exactly where this occurred. He was within 10 minutes of duty stations from not one, not two, but THREE different law enforcement agencies where he pulled these people over. It never takes that long if you tell dispatch you are under threat and holding them at gun point to get backup over. 1-2 minutes, ok that's fine, whatever. 10 minutes, absolutely no stress in his voice, being nonchalant about it. Guy was being a power tripping pussy and shouldn't be dealing with the public.

Like literally, less than 30 seconds for virtually any call here and if one at gun point you can hear the dodge chargers roaring from across town lol.

Yup, it's one of those reports I really wish I could read. A few years ago I overheard (well I mean just about the entire substation heard) a Captain verbally eviscerating a deputy for taking a couple of minutes to call in that he was holding someone by taser. He would have had an epic meltdown if it was of the 10 minute variety.

Dallas man acquitted of a charge that he attempted to disarm a police officer after security footage showed this wasn't the case. He was removed from a Vikings game for being drunk and on the way the officers escorting him threw him to the ground, then punched, kneed, and tasered him twice. Officers said that the use of force was reasonable because the man went for one of the officer's taser. Body cam footage later on in the incident showed the taser prongs still attached to the man while he laid handcuffed. The man is now suing the Minneapolis police for $75k.

Setting aside whether or not a sneeze could've made him pull the trigger (really though, the physical reaction sneezing is hugely variable and some people have anomalously violent reactions), I'm genuinely curious how effectively someone could injure you with a screwdriver from inside of a closed car with only the window down. Assuming no part of you is currently reaching through the window, what could possibly happen in a time shorter than it would take you to take 1 step backwards? It's an incredibly awkward movement.

Whole thing is pretty fucking stupid tbh.

With a seat belt on, and the cop wearing Kevlar, he could probably give him a scrape that would send him to get a tetanus shot. Maybe a puncture wound to the arm if his backhand is good, cop isn't paying attention and forgets to take a step back, pull his taser and zap him.

    LOL kink.com

I've been pulled over for nothing 4 times, and 3 of those times the officer approached with gun drawn or hand on the gun.

That's how it be sometimes in the hood.
