Well, obviously no one needs rapid fire weaponry, but I'd stop short of mocking hunters. idk about Canada specifically, but hunting is effectively a means of supplementing household income for parts of the rural US.

This is true. In the area my mother in law lives, there are a lot of people that go hunting. They basically don't need to buy any red meat for a year based off their deer season. Sometimes they have too much at the start of the next season and offload it to friends/family. We've received several pounds of venison in this fashion. Mostly steaks or ground.

Admittedly I wasn't familiar with this so I will concede that my insulting of people using guns for a means to provide for themselves is unwarranted.

I will say though that the "smallpenisfragileinsecurity" still stands for the people who buy these kinds of guns to live out some sort of pseudo-military fetish 'gotta be tough' kind of fantasy life. Like more or less all the people "protesting" in Michigan yesterday

My sister in law dated a prepper out in Iowa for a while. He was similarly stocked, but it was more of a "the world is going to go to shit and I'm going to live in my shipping container bunker" kind of thing than a "the liberals are going to take my guns" sort of thing. In his defense, he was also ex-military and a firearms safety instructor so he isn't just a fat Joe Schmoe.

EDIT: I guess the point is, there's a range of people that purchase firearms. I'm not particularly against firearms if there is some semblance of intelligence in the way they are viewed and handled.

I wouldn't doubt it if these two idiots I worked loss prevention with were at these rallies. When we moved from Macomb back home I was working loss prevention for Meijer and transferred. These two had to let me know constantly about how I should consider getting tactical boots and other gear for work because it is very helpful and you'll never know what you'll face! It was funny to me because I had spent the last four months frequently working the Roseville store. Roseville in general is very rough but none of us there were concerned because Meijer is hands off so it would be extremely rare if you got into a physical altercation with anyone. Anyways, dumb and dumber never shut up about their tactical gear, guns (the older one bought ammo every shift), and were always trying to warn about the dangers at Meijer. The younger one went on about how he was going to enter the state police training. If there was ever a prime suspect for cop who will use excessive force and/or shoot it was this kid.
