I love Jose Mourinho except when my teams play against him.

But it's definitely unexpected. Most of the time, Mourinho knows how to grind out results, and that means 1-0 wins with highly conservative play. If Mourinho has the ability to go more Fergie style; that is, attack with flair, tenacity, and retaining the ball, that might be how United wins this season. Leicester won the league because Ranieri's 4-4-2 with a lighting counterattack was largely unexpected, so tactical shakeups might be the path to victory.

    Also, uh, hi.

it'll be interesting to see how Jose plays it in the Manchester derbies; there may be a few games this season he'll be keen to concede possession

    Please win, Spurs.

  14. #74

    That's the opposite of winning.

  15. #75

Marcos Alonso should be in fucking jail, and definitely not scoring against Spurs.

  16. #76

That City v Everton game was hilariously stupid and fun.

538 now has excessively long global club rankings.

    https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...ccer-rankings/

The EPL has 6 teams in the top 20 but none in the top 5. The league's 7th team, Everton, falls well behind the top 7 teams in Serie A. All sounds about right.

The top MLS teams are mostly behind the top 10 in Liga MX and would land nicely somewhere in the bottom half of the Championship or in League One.

Most importantly, Tot'num is ranked higher than Arsenal.

Hmm how do they make that rank?

    why PSG is so high?

Should be in same level as Monaco or under them, i mean both are first place atm in Ligue 1, Monaco is actual champion there and Monaco was up to semifinals in Champions while PSG was out in octaves.

    I don't get it.

There are 25 teams from Argentina league and 0 teams from rest of South America.

I think they only have Argentina and Brazil's domestic clubs from South America ranked so far. I imagine they'll add more.

It's an aggregate index for each club factoring in more than just league position, but recent results, transfers, as well as continental competitions both present and recent past. This hurts the non-European clubs as CONCACAF Champions League just isn't the same level of club quality as UEFA.

It wouldn't encompass enough to just base rankings on tables from last season or UCL progression. Look no further than PSG/Monaco or Man City or Inter Milan for examples.

I do think PSG is too high but they should probably be higher than Monaco based on the Neymar boost alone.

Hmm yea i read that transfers are an important part of the valuation.

Would be nice if http://clubelo.com/ would be more than just european teams, looks more accurate.
