Only just got to watching the first episode last night, but the Hound and Arya continue to be the best parts of the show. The Hound especially.

You would think that a fleet would have some outlying scout ships so the flagship wouldn't be the first one to get fucked in a battle, but it's TV. Why bother making sense of it.

It is a huge fleet, plausible that one of euron's scout ships was able to track this piece of the host when it left dragonstone

You would think that a fleet would have some outlying scout ships so the flagship wouldn't be the first one to get fucked in a battle, but it's TV. Why bother making sense of it.

Perhaps the scout ship was the first one they came across in the night and they were ambushed before raising the alarm.

Of the show's many transgressions I think this one can mostly be explained away by:

-Euron being a superior naval commander
-Overconfidence of dany's host. Yara isn't exactly on high alert, she's basking in the pleasure of ellaria's company and what they expect to be a relatively easy conquering of westeros

This honestly could have been all avoided if they sent Davos in a single boat instead. The Onion Knight has some thick plot armor. Plus Davos vs. Euron could be p. sweet.

I meant to make this point sooner - what reason have viewers been given to root for ellaria or the sand snakes? Girl power?

Ellaria and co. attempted to provoke cersei into war, murdered an innocent young prince in trystane, his innocent betrothed in myrcella, a pacifist ruler in doran, and areo hotah. They deserve whatever is coming from cersei. Dorne deserves better.
