The only travel tip I have is don't put drugs in your bum. That's where they expect you to keep them.
Get out of my thread.
bump Zet's thread
We booked that Norwegian flight, DEN-LGW last night, departure & return both on Tuesday. Thanks again dude. That flight really is by far the best on the route.
accepting England input and ideas~
Have fun man.
Go to a soccer match.
There's some huge lists of great pubs and such. I won't pick one because they are all pretty great.
Go to Harrod's
https://www.youtube.com/user/foodbusker/ - Go to that guy's kitchen
Big meal? Dinner by Hester Blumenthal
Otherwise I'm behind on London's food scene. It's evolving rapidly and is in the top 5 on earth.
Go to a beach.
Go to the cliffs of Dover
Go to a cute B&B by the sea
Go to Scotland
Go to York
Go to the Lake District
Go to the Natural History Museum
Walk part of Hadrian's wall
Go to Windsor Castle
We're renting a camper van and ought to be able to see many of those suggestions -- thanks Zet. We've only a day and a half around London, which should still allow for some HQ foods.
I'm excited to shift a manual transmission with my left arm and struggle to understand individuals who (presumably) speak the same language.
The van rental and return is near Bristol; hopefully we won't have to drive too near London, only as close as necessary to get to Dover. Driving in London would be too much for me I think. It has to be bus/train/hired car only.
I'll post a tentative itinerary later.
Wednesday, 2nd of May--
7am: Arrive at Gatwick airport, immediately train or coach to Bristol.
2pm: Near Bristol, rent a Ford Transit named Clarence and then, I think, depart for Lake District first.
8pm: Watch the Roma-Liverpool second leg somewhere(?)
Wednesday afternoon to Sunday morning is essentially open. Even if we see just Hadrian's wall and Dover, that'd be a lot of England. I hope more happens but we'll see how it goes. Going to Bournemouth-Swansea on this Sat would be ideal, and I won't be upset if it doesn't happen.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday--
drive safely
Sunday--
10am-noon: Return rental van near Bristol, then train or coach back to London. Hotel is near Victoria Station, The Eaton Townhouse.
~5-8pm: delicious dinner somewhere
Monday--
7am: London all day. Deep breaths in pollution.
~6pm: Check in at this Maple Manor place near Gatwick for the following morning's return flight.
Tuesday--
7am: Arrive at Gatwick Airport for 9:50am flight.
Heading to Paris for 11 days at the end of May. Will be my first time in Europe!
No idea what plans to make yet, apart from the typical touristy stuff & wanting to stuff my face with as much delicious food as possible.
Tyven hooked me up with a ton of places and the rest we did using Tripadvisor. We were there 14 days and still didn't get to do everything, but we did get the big stuff. Stay away from champs elysees unless you want to come home with thousand dollar Louis Vuitton shit. I ain't gonna lie I even got a wallet. I mean, definitely go to champs elysees it rocks but forget your credit card or something lol.
Like everyone speaks English, don't let them fool you. Shittiest area for us was Sacre Coeur we were litterally mobbed by gypseys and almost tackled which elicited a similar reaction from me. Go to that place from the top not the bottom, crazy good ice cream up there.
Anyone ever been to Switzerland and got some advice? Might make that my first trip after I separate from the Navy next year.
Yes, it's fucking insanely expensive. Super nice but amazingly expensive.
I can PM you our giant list from Paris if you're interested.Heading to Paris for 11 days at the end of May. Will be my first time in Europe!

Go to epicure for lunch if you can afford it.
Or dinner if you're wop.
You'll need a suit for either and to reserve like now.
We saved our receipt for the lols and so we never forget the wines we had so we can get them again.
Thanks! Good to know, wasn’t sure if 11 days would be too much but it definitely sounds like there’s plenty to do. Will check out some of the TripAdvisor stuffs.
Looked up epicure and my god, looks amazing... wasn’t planning on packing a tux, might have to now though (or find one to rent? lol).
Yesss definitely! Thanks!
