This facebook group is giving me headaches on the discussion of why trunks/goten don't have tails.

They're trying to come up w/ reasons/justifications. Toriyama got tired of drawing tails. Nothing more or less than that. So he got rid of them from the story.

That is actually just a fan thing that has been floating around on the net. There's no documented interview of him ever saying that. He did say that he didn't like drawing them though. And then offered it up to simply "Tails are a recessive trait"

Which from a simple genetics standpoint isn't possible, and people who have never taken a basic genetics course are trying to say how it's scientifically possible for tails to be recessive, lol and i'm just like "nah, Toriyama simply didn't have an understanding of genetics when he made that statement. Dude is a manga artist, not a surgeon. It's fine if he doesn't. People make mistakes"
