Okay. I think you guys remember the "SHOOT, AT&T was burying the neighbor's cable and hit ours AND the water main!" incident a few months ago?
Well, the burial crew came back today. We had a burial crew truck come at teh end of last week, but I scared him off with a "BE CAREFUL, last guy who tried this hit the water main" and he said he was going to call in some specialized guys. Those guys came today and successfully did the job without knocking out our internet or our water. I did talk with one of 'em; he was really friendly and took my warning about that brother that works from home seriously, but with a good sense of humor. (I call him "The Troll" online b/c he acts like a fantasy troll; as in being grouchy as you know what, being really territorial, and staying in his room most of the time. No, this isn't Shadowneko, this is my middle brother)
I call this a win b/c I don't want to hear The Troll cussing up a storm right now (he has a VERY foul mouth) and they did the job properly this time. I hope I dun see the AT&T guys around for a good while either!
So after months of no word on this promotion opportunity at work that several us have been through backgrounds for and in a holding pattern , out Sgt. advised us that during the morning meeting they have found they are not overstaffed for the position that is open after all , in fact are only at minimum staffing.
So we could hear something very soon especially as the new fiscal year starts next week. I'll take any news as a win.

I developed and ran a project that delivered a substantial fraction of my company's revenue over the last year. Got two raises (current salary is 150% of what they hired me at) and a new job title.
Then I told them I needed to step back, they helped me do so, and now I am basically back to working 8hr/day again largely doing whatever I want. I am sure it won't last, but it is nice for now.
I got away with accidentally scratching the shit out of a rental car's lower bumper and I feel like a king for not having to go through that smoke.
Do you have any legal or research based jobs because Amazon is moving into my area and I want to be on that train before they demolish my neighborhood to lay tracks.

Yah, Amazon loves lawyers. I talk to them every freaking day before I do virtually anything.
Also Zealot we live near-ish each other. NOVA.
LinkedIn headhunters are the fucking worst. I get calls, messages, and emails constantly.
New family member:

Did you freak out? Did you cut the cord?
Ok so I saw the pic of the puppy quoted multiple times so I thought I was in the BG Pets thread and then saw Rata posting about the birth of his child and I was like wait a minute...
Anyways grats on babies, both human and doggo
Grats on the baby. Under no circumstances should you throw a water bottle at it.
