Had one class left to take to bridge the gap between my M.S. in physics and my PhD in High Performance Scientific Computing (actually still same work just a much more employable PhD title) which was a HPC class. Took it this semester remotely without ever being in class because I work full time, missed almost all of the deadlines on work and wrote the final report last night while near brown out levels of drunk.

Got a 95 on it and a 92 overall.

There is no way in hell my professor actually read that thing.

Today in Dasva's tales of customers we have a good one. There's this really nice older lady who comes in now and then. And because she loves how nice we are and how last time boss was giving out extra tomatoes from his tree she gave us some Homemade Port Wine Jelly. Also she's just a joy to deal with unlike most customers lol

Not sure if this counts as a win or fail, but I'm happy, so I'll put it as a win. I bought a few translated hentai manga over the years, some of which have dramatically increased in price due to being out of print. I was looking for some in Japanese since the English versions spiked and wanted them for nostalgia, and found a storefront on Amazon that was selling manga for cheap with reasonable shipping. Bought 2 as a test to see if it would ship here without problem, and once they arrived, proceeded to buy over 40 more manga since they're all in the $5-7 impulse buy range.

I feel kinda bad for the storefront since it is near Christmas and I kept buying manga in small separate orders, but it doesn't affect shipping prices and hopefully the business helps them. It's been pretty funny having to use copy and paste just to find some of the stuff, which led to other manga that I didn't initially see and it just snowballed out of control.

So for a long time Costco has had different stuff online and in warehouse and generally perishables and most food items weren't online. And to extent they aren't but now they have another section for same day or 2 day deliver that includes almost everything in warehouse including some things that aren't in mine but in some others. The extra win is they have regular package Shin Black while warehouse only has cup.

Had applied for a part time job a few weeks ago basically adjacent to my other job. We went back and forth a bit due to scheduling for phone interview and in person finally today. At end of interview got the job offer pending background. Confirmed details and got a text about an hour ago saying my background came back in record time lol.

Which is great because I took a seasonal position at a retail store that in all my years of working is the most absurdly mismanaged dumpster fire I’ve ever walked into - and they think they’ll be ready for inventory the week after Christmas , have fun with that.
