Ah yes, the stereotypical staring into the distance for a picture look. Staring off into the sunset, wondering if you can safely poop in the ocean in case of emergency.

full brim, fuck yeah
congrats Bane
lol. i suppose it does kinda look that way. The pictures are all candid shots, except a few posed shots of the ring. she wanted the proposal itself to be a surprise, so i planned a trip up to Duluth to visit my folks for her birthday. I vastly underestimated how long it would take to get the fancy rings we have our eyes on sized, and we don't have the money right now anyway, so i asked my mom for help. she had her friend make us a nice ring: aluminum band with a wave motif, titanium setting, synthetic ruby. for the price of 2 beers. Fiancee was beginning to suspect so I dropped a few questions about the ring (which i now had in my pocket) making it sound like it was still up in the air. anyway on our last trip up to duluth we went up to Two Harbors and had a nice romantic walk near the lighthouse, so I wanted to do the same thing. I had my dad follow us at a distance taking pictures, because he's a photographer anyway and it wouldn't raise too much suspicion.
so this is us walking back towards shore after hitting the pokestops on the pier. (incidentally, my folks's house is a pokestop) I think we were looking at some ducks swimming alongside. I proposed about 10-15 minutes after this, at a nice stone bench on a trail.
Girlfriend earned her MFA, will begin working and contributing to the bills again now as well.
MFA in what?
GF has one in screenwriting. She's an EA. Nothing like a $100k paperweight.
So it's lean, then?
She's thicc but thanks for asking.
Classical Acting, she's a Shakespearean actor. She'll be in MacBeth starting in the fall, she turned down a part in Henry V to be in that one since they're also paying her extra to be their fight director. Stage combat is her real love.
She's also a tutor instructor, so she flies around the country teaching other tutors how to help rich kids pass the ACT.
That's fucking sweet.
Spoiler: show
picked this up today. Target actually stopped selling them so the store near me ran out, but another store had them (the quarry if you're reading this 6souls!) so I put one on hold. I was skeptical that it would fit, but omg it's fucking perfect. use it for sitting on the floor and playing keyboard+mouse games/programming.
to get why this is a win, you need to know that I've been sitting on the floor using a coffee table for mouse+keyboard for ages, and it has seriously fucked up my shoulder. I kept putting this off and putting this off and finally I was like "jesus fuck dude they probably make products for this, just go out and buy one you damned idiot."
so now I can game all I want and do my programming work without injuring myself. it's stupid that I took so long to fix the issue but I am over the moon with how perfectly this thing fits, posture-wise. $15, too! what a steal.
Oh God, my favorite items are the items I acquired as a quality of life purchase that I put off for so long because I'm stubborn and don't want to accept that there's a better way lol.
For me it was a sun shield for my car. Jfc I swear my daily commute went from being unbearable and a chore to being a lovely drive around town simply because this piece of foil shielded my car and kept it cool enough that I can enjoy the drive without sweating like a rabid beast.

lol I'm glad I'm not the only one. I felt like a dork being so excited about something so mundane... ah, adulthood!
Someone attempted to brute hack my PSN account. Two step verification saves the day.
GF got me a Switch for my birthday.
