At least there'll be 1 game people can play Tracer properly.
And the attempts to nerf the shield meta out of existence begin!

Most of these don't seem to bad. Think they're trying to balance for 2/2/2. Though can't help notice the worst heroes still don't get much love. Those Sigma nerfs though. That's going to hit hard. Especially the recall delay.
New Mercy story:

And cosmetic event:
Need that doctor skin..
Gonna need to remember to log on for that Mercy skin during the third week..
"We're not doing hero bans."
"Introducing Hero Pools, a 'cultivated list of heroes you can play.'"
PTR is also essentially becoming more accessible.
No new content, but..
Figured Echo wouldn't be showing up till Overwatch 2, but:
Echo is an offensive character, shoots energy from her hands, has a focus beam, sticky bombs, and her ult lets her become someone from the enemy team for a short time.

Official forums are losing their minds. For over a year Echo has been hinted at,with everyone assuming she'll be the next support this game needs. She'll save the game. Change everything.
Now that she is revealed DPS people are PISSED. I don't think blizzard can do anything to not get shit on anymore. Admittedly this is just more a terrible fan base but they see the forums. They could have just said "Echos not support".
I thought this whole time she was support. Even reading that description I'm thinking "oh offensive support that's cool"
Blizzard cant do anything right. Cause this game needs another useless dps, right?

Didn’t we just get a support hero? The dude with the immortal field. They almost always if not always rotate the class of the hero with every release... echo was never going to be a support if she released just after what’s his name... oh and the tank fellow, Sigma... frankly we were “due” for a dps regardless if it’s what the game needed... Wasn't the last DPS Hero Ashe way back in 2018?
I’m not clearing Blizzard here for this kind of release cycle but the pattern is there. Expecting another support was the players fault. Also, idk why people always think support heroes will save the game :/. Then again I haven’t played since ... well after doomfist but before Female McCree
It's an even spread. Seesh. I hate how REEEEEE the internet is.
It's only an even spread when you look at the new heroes. If you look at the overall numbers, it's far from even:
8 Tanks
17 DPS
7 Support
Then consider how many of those tanks and support aren't even worth playing most of the time because of the nerfs they've received and the buffs as a whole have gained.
I loved playing as Brigitte when she was released because I could actually defend myself against DPS spawn camping me. I agree she needed to be changed, but they went too far at one point and essentially killed her when they made the huge change to her shield health. Back when that happened she only had the 1 health pack, so at least she's doing better now.
Orisa used to be one of my mains. I played her recently with the new changes and she's straight up trash now. The problems that we saw with GOATS in OWL rarely came up in gold/plat (can't speak for other tiers), so it feels like they're only doing balancing based on the top % of players (OWL and GM).
Meanwhile Doomfist has been roaming free causing terror despite even pros saying how busted he is. There's Junkrat who gets to spam his grenades without worry of splash damage (why is he immune and not Pharah who typically has to play in the open?). There's constant hate for Mei, but she still seems good. Reaper was healing himself for 50% damage at one point, now it's "only" 30%. Hanzo was overpowered, but at least he's in a more reasonable spot now.
Then you have people complaining about DPS queue times. Adding another DPS doesn't help that. In the short time there will be a huge amount wanting to play Echo due to "new character," but also consider one-trick players (likely a low effect, but it still adds to it, especially it Echo ends up being very good/fun).
tl;dr - Balancing has made Tanks and Support less fun to play and DPS more fun. We don't "need" more DPS until current Tanks/Support are balanced across the class to not feel like you're throwing by picking certain characters.
EDIT: Just remembered that Support also lost a character who became DPS (Symmetra). The game has changed a lot since release when we had Tank/DPS/Defense/Support. Crazy to think we only had 3 actual healers at release.
