Seriously though I could go that route but I don't have any free time to research, set up a computer, get it working, etc. Do you have a link to resources on setting up an emulator and getting games for it and making a controller work with it? I could run a VM on my work laptop and run the emulator there then hook my laptop up to the TV.
I'm at work and most of the sites get blocked. I run on my rig PSX, PSX2, and soon 3. I've ran SNES, NES, and iirc N64 on my wife's. They are pretty easy to set up if you're pc literate though. I just finished putting together a Pi 3 B+ but haven't loaded anything yet. I've read even those can run emulators.
Yeah absolutely. I can say offhand just google searching <console you want> emulator will find you a plethora of info. I get most games off of emuparadise.com (I think). I find setting it up similar to setting up mods in nexus mod manager. Some ps1/2 games are big files compared to other consoles, but it's nothing earth shattering.
I use the same site as Kal to get ROMs for the games.
Also, you can build a Raspberry Pi emulator if you wanted a "console."
Do you have a preference for brand or place to buy the actual raspberry pi 3?
Emulators for NES/SNES/genesis/gameboy/etc. are very simple, just download them, run with the roms and that's really it. It only gets more complicated once you get to PSX and beyond, where you may need to adjust settings and plugins to get different games to run correctly.
Did you guys get heat sinks and stuff for yours? I was thinking about building one recently, and saw some cases have built in fans, and other people say a heat sink is usually enough.
XCOM2 free for PS Plus users in June
greenmangaming.com is giving 25% off of any PC game using promo code JUNE25. Not sure how long it lasts. Most like I'll be buying FFXV from them as it's only $4 more than the historic low for FFXV.
Just Cause bundle on Steam for VERY cheap. 80+% off.
Bought JC3
Big PSN sale happening the next few days. Today is day one. It's a sign of the apocalypse because the PS4 version of GTAV is finally at $20.
Semi related note, Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition is now $20 pretty much everywhere and I've heard nothing but good things so I'm gonna try that out for sure.
