yeah they cancelled it after season 3
Nah.
It’s a paper from one group and iffy inferences from one specific set of observations. I’m not an expert in DM observations from galaxies, but I work closely with 3 people who ARE experts in it and it seems to be a big nothingburger.
Tens of thousands of verified predictions of motion based on DM > whatever this stuff is.
It's still pretty early to claim this is the correct solution. Dark matter is one resolution to the problem but it's not the only possible solution. They matched it to existing results but it's going to take a lot of effort to get the theory to the point where it will supplant the dark matter model. I'd personally love to see dark matter die off because that would mean there's some better understanding of the dynamics of the universe.
Scientists find unexpected animal life far beneath Antarctica’s floating ice shelves
The discovery of what appear to be sponges in the pitch-black seawater beneath almost half a mile of ice has biologists baffled.https://www.nbcnews.com/science/scie...ice-sh-rcna285“Life finds a way,” the actor Jeff Goldblum playing scientist Ian Malcolm declared in the 1993 movie “Jurassic Park.”
Animal life was not what scientists were expecting to find in the pitch-black seawater beneath almost half a mile of floating Antarctic ice, but it seems to have found a way with the discovery of sea creatures living in the extreme environment.
It took a sea and land journey to prove to scientists they were wrong about physics
I thought this was interesting.
How about some Archaeology news for a change?
Archaeologists uncover 3,000-year-old "lost golden city" buried under sands in Egypthttps://www.cbsnews.com/news/egypt-l...covered-luxor/Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of an ancient city in the desert outside Luxor that they say is the "largest" ever found in Egypt and dates back to a golden age of the pharaohs 3,000 years ago.
Famed Egyptologist Zahi Hawass announced the discovery of the "lost golden city", saying the site was uncovered near Luxor, home of the legendary Valley of the Kings.
"The Egyptian mission under Dr. Zahi Hawass found the city that was lost under the sands," the excavation team said in a statement Thursday. "The city is 3,000 years old, dates to the reign of Amenhotep III, and continued to be used by Tutankhamun and Ay."
The team called the find "the largest" ancient city ever uncovered in Egypt.
Betsy Bryan, professor of Egyptian art and archaeology at Johns Hopkins University, said the find was the "second most important archeological discovery since the tomb of Tutankhamun" nearly a century ago, according to the team's statement.

https://www.nbcnews.com/science/scie...l-lab-rcna1697Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory announced a key achievement in fusion research Tuesday. Fusion, the lesser-known opposite reaction to nuclear fission, is when two atoms slam together to form a heavier atom and release energy. It is the way the sun makes energy.
“Our result is a significant step forward in understanding what is required for it to work. To me, this is a Wright Brothers moment,” Omar A. Hurricane, chief scientist for the Inertial Confinement Fusion Program at the laboratory in Livermore, California, told CNBC.
There is not a man named Omar A. Hurricane who works in an inertia lab, not unless my dream of living in comic book world finally came true.
