Tried to make a new post of my own to ask a couple of questions to find out I have to have posted comments 10 times on others threads first so I'm sticking it here. Sorry if it doesn't belong. Hate to have typed all that on my phone at work for nothing. Here it is:

Downloaded and updated last night. Will actually start playing tonight. Sure I'll have more questions after I actually start. I've played of and on since NA release and I'm starting from scratch. Only two questions I can think of:
1. Which unity should I pick? Only think that matters is which trust you get? Or is there something else? Which trust is best?
2. Last I played you could only have 3 trusts. Five sounds nuts. Can I get far enough through those missions solo to unlock 5 Trusts? And I'm sure I'm nuts to do it, but I want to make an adventuring fellow. Can I call out 5 trusts and a fellow at the same time?

And a third question I guess. How is gil made decently? I know some is from ROE and selling sparks grear. Selling drops at AH still a way? Npc farming? NM gear drop selling? Gardening? Fishing? I plan on doing everything this game has to offer except crafting. Even if they hit the"easy button" on that, I don't want to craft again.

For your questions:
1) Since the only decent healer trusts are UC leaders, it matters. Either go with Yoran-Oran or Apururu. I personally prefer YO and have him as my UC on 10/14 characters.
2) You can very easily get the 4th one unlocked solo. The 5th slot takes a bit more mission progress to get to, but I don't remember it being hard to get at all.
2b) Fellow takes a party spot, just like Trusts, so no. You can not have a 7 member party. I've not looked into it myself, but I know I've been told Fellows don't work that great with ilvl content as well, and have not once ever heard a recommendation to level one. ^^;; It might be worth doing for fun if you enjoyed the storyline for it, but not worth actually using when you are done with it.

Selling sparks gear (which is basically just select NQ gear until lv99,) is reliable income which depends solely on your own effort.

Very few drops from non-NMs are worth the AH sales slot. There are exceptions of course, but you'd have to put in some time researching the AH to figure out what raw materials are selling. Even if you don't want to max out a craft tho, you'd be well served by taking at least GS/SM/LC to 70 in order to be able to sell processed mats for a greater profit than raw mats. If you follow the new rules, you have ~99% chance of skillup for 1-70 now, so it's not hard at all.

NM gear is all r/ex so it's not AH-able, but selling party slots to lot gear is known as merc'ing nowadays.

I don't believe that gardening or fishing are going to be able to be at all worthwhile gil-wise. Most HELM activities have been replaced by Mog Garden since most items obtainable via HELM is now available from there with low effort / high return.
