that shit is scaring me so much right now. I have everything i need to be safe, and yet i can't find a single bone in my body to joke around or feel safe. It's a serious fucking storm and as a longtime Florida resident I understand completely . While I lived more in central Florida for the last 12 years of my time there , I remember being in 9th grade when Andrew hit southern Florida and how devastating it was for so many. We had quite a few families relocate to our area after losing everything. I can't tell you the number of small hurricanes and tropical storms everyone ignored because it "always skirts the coast". While those did some damage it was negligible overall but also promotes the attitude of complacency now which can be deadly.

I'm in a number of Disney Facebook groups and it amazes me how many refuse to cancel their vacation even though full refunds/reschedules are being offered. People are fucking idiots risking their lives for this shit, that also goes for those refusing to evacuate when given the order.
I found out today Brevard county which I lived in which NEVER has had any mandatory evacuations is starting today/tomorrow. I know it's scary to think about leaving and unsure when you can return but it's just not worth the risk.

Polk County will be ID'ing anyone wanting to come into a shelter, and "Giving them shelter in the polk county jail" if they have an active warrant; in addition to just turning anyone on the SO registry list away.

Not sure what any undocumented immigrants plan to do since an ID is required

All BG Floridians please stay safe. If you have the ability to get out, please do. If you can't get out make sure you have enough supplies and if you need help and 911 is inundated, there are social media volunteer dispatchers that may be able to help. It worked well with Harvey with over 700 volunteers scraping social media to look for people that needed help and organizing rescues with the Cajun Navy and other volunteers.
