I get it; we're both homers. And yes, I am aware that the heisman is a "regular season trophy" only (which is stupid, again, in my opinion; shouldn't what you do in the postseason against presumably similar competition mean more than beating scrubs?).

That said, if you put Jackson in for Watson playing bama, I think Clemson loses the game this past Jan. And that says all it needs to regarding who the better QB is. Yes he has better running stats, is more athletic, made a bunch of people look dumb trying to tackle him, and dropped a million points on a bunch of shitty opponents plus FSU. But at the end of the day he didn't get it done when he needed to. You can blame his receivers, his offensive line, his defense, his coaches, or whoever. And Clemson/Watson has the national title (and a pair of Manning awards) because of it.

Your arguing post season hypotheticals to justify why your man should have won a regular season award. It's an awful take. I'd love to hear a compelling argument that Watson was the better regular season football player (not better QB, the Heisman isn't a QB award), but I don't think such an argument exists.

And let's not shit on louisvilles schedule, Watson was out there throwing picks to fucking Troy. Your reg season schedule wasn't exactly full of top 25 teams.

The argument is that if you want to pick "the best player" there shouldn't be an asterisk next to it saying "in regular season". And while I certainly grant that it's not a QB award, if you don't win the award for best at your position, how can you win the best-overall?

Jackson threw 25 times against Kentucky's all-world-defense and was picked 3 times. And then got his ass handed to him by LSU, completing only 37% of his passes and running for 33 yards. And that says nothing about his performance at Houston that was also rough, though was more on his o-line letting him get sacked on nearly every play.

If you want to tell me that the trophy goes to whoever has the best stats, fine. Then why the hell did Derrick Henry win it 2 years ago? Fournette had more rushing yards per game, McCaffrey had more yards from scrimmage, and Cook had more yards per carry. So maybe it's given to the best player on the best team? Nope again, just look at Mariota or Jackson. No, it's all bullshit. It's ratings. It's whoever has the most photogenic plays. And if Jackson stays in a few extra series to pad his stats against Charlotte or 'Cuse, all the better. And if a player throws for 400 yards facing the best defense in college while carrying his team to a championship, oh well - enjoy that Manning award.

You can continue to try very hard to drag the results of the national championship game into the conversation, still doesn't matter. It doesn't count. You can whine about it all you want, doesn't change the fact the Jackson won, and he should have won. If you want to say he padded stats, whatever, the dude was getting 6TDs in a half. I guess he could have a went for 12 TDS in a game? Dabo knows how the Heisman works, he could've out Watson in a a better position if he wanted to attempt to catch Lamar. Regardless, Jackson had better stats, better overall body of work in the regular season despite the last two games, and was certainly more dynamic. The CFBP changes nothing.

The spread for OSU@WSU opened at 16 and has since risen to 19. OSU lost by 31 on the road to Colorado State, and 34 at home to Minnesota. WSU is quite a bit better than either of those teams.

Apparently ESPN couldn't find any good games for the weekend of 9/23 so they are gonna do College Game Day live from Times Square. Debated putting that in the ESPN fails thread.

Thats dumb. Theres a lot of better than average conference matchups that weekend.

    Auburn/Mizzou
    USC/Cal
Jean Shorts/Kentucky (Which has been a good series recently)
    Michigan/Purdue
    Penn State/Iowa
    UCLA/Stanford
    Miss State/UGA

Thats just being lazy. I'm sure there is a captivating FCS or lower game they could go to in order to check that off their yearly "to-do" list.

Hell, Temple/South Florida for the post hurricane angle. Make a big deal about donating proceeds to Irma relief.

Made in impromptu decision to buy a ticket and make the two hour trip to Louisville alone. I feel weird here in the stands alone...like the weird kid that goes to the theater alone. Except I am surrounded by friendly drunk people. FUCK YOU COREN, LAMAR FOR ANOTHER HEISMAN
