    Issue with laptop touchpad

    Hey guys,

Im having a sporadic issue with the touchpad on my laptop. It is a Lenovo G50-70, and for the past few months, the touchpad is not functional. Upon looking in the Device Manager, its not even showing up as a possible device. This issue occurs 75% of the time during start-up, and even when it does load up and is functional, it will occasionally stop working if the lid is closed and it enters sleep mode.

Anyone have any ideas on fixing this issue?

Humm, wonder if you might have a lose connection between the trackpad and the MB, but I don't know that particular model, so I can't tell you how to verify that.
You could disable sleep mode to at least alleviate that part, but that doesn't really solve the root problem. Have you tried downloading and installing newer drivers for it when it works?
Lenovo ships a lot of crap with their computers, but the update drivers software usually is pretty decent, in its latest incarnation it is called "Lenovo Companion" if memory serves.
