Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb military commander known as the ‘Butcher of Bosnia’ was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity.
The 74-year-old war criminal was found guilty of orchestrating massacres and ethnic cleansing during Bosnia's 1992-95 war, including the massacre at Srebrenica, Europe's worst atrocity since World War Two.
The conviction, which marked the final case of the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal, was hailed as a victory for justice and a warning to others - including Syrian president Bashar al-Assad - that the passage of time offered no protection to perpetrators of genocide.

Yo what the fuck this dude poisoned himself to death to end a UN court hearing, video in link, crazy as fuck lol
the Saudis have partially lifted the blockade on Yemen allowing in desperately needed food and medicine. it appears the threats of famine and untreated epidemics are abated for the nonce.
the Saudis had initially blockaded the country in response to the Houthi rebels firing a missile at their capital of Riyadh, a missile they believe to have come from an illicit arms shipment from Iran.

I've always found it stupid that the US, Russia, or China can veto anything pertaining to themselves.
Because the most powerful nations in the world weren't gonna sign onto this UN thing unless they could ignore it when it suited them.
lmaooo forgot about that

I finally got around to watching her say that. Haley 2024.
the Houthi rebels of Yemen fired another missile at the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, they claim they were targeting the royal palace in an attempt to kill Mohammed bin-Salman and the senior leadership around him at a budget meeting. Saudi air defenses struck it down, as with the last one, but given the Saudi reaction last time was to blockade the entire country their response to the attempted assassination is expected to be fierce.

I honestly didn't realize that SA had decent anti-missile capability.

i mean
major U.S. ally
I know I shouldn't be surprised, I just know very little about SA's capabilities.

there's no definitive evidence they actually shot down the first one (and fired 5 times), but of course no one can say that. the Saudis are indeed nicely defended and these systems work with whatever true efficacy they have, possibly very little

and NYT's article https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...e-defense.html
Have you guys read this huge story Hezbollah story yet? It's massive and I feel like I need an ELI5 on some of it. Basically sounds like Obama admin shut down a drug trafficking laundering investigation in order to get the Iran deal passed.
The used car laundering is interesting because I'm pretty sure that's what the Awan Brothers were up to. (They had a shady car dealership named Cars International A, .. or CIA)

Sounds like that article lays it out pretty well, they prioritized the nuclear deal over prosecuting drug selling and money laundering by Hezbollah.
