Palestinian Authority to hold elections for the first time in 15 years, and thoseuns saw a brief civil war between Hamas and Fatah that spiraled into a Hamas-Israel clash. lot of false starts since then, we'll see how she goes. could lead to a unified, legitimized Palestine, could lead to civil war. and a Hamas victory of course again begs the Israel question.

China is threatening to go to war with Taiwan should Taiwan declare independence.
The warning comes days after China stepped up its military activities and flew warplanes near the island.
It also comes after new US President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Taiwan, and set out his stance in Asia.
China sees democratic Taiwan as a breakaway province, but Taiwan sees itself as a sovereign state, with its own constitution, military, and elected leaders.
On Thursday, Chinese defence ministry spokesman Wu Qian defended the recent military activities near Taiwan, saying they were "necessary actions to address the current security situation in the Taiwan Strait and to safeguard national sovereignty and security".
"They are a solemn response to external interference and provocations by 'Taiwan independence' forces," he added.
"We warn those 'Taiwan independence' elements - those who play with fire will burn themselves, and Taiwan independence means war."
that has been their standing position for decades. the only thing stopping China from conquering Taiwan tomorrow is an American carrier strike group.
Democrats bringing us into another war. Trump would never.
Hardly the only thing, Mao's own invasion of the island ended in disaster when he tried it the first time.
Mao's planned invasion of the island was put on hold after the Korean War broke out and China went North to fight the UN. they never actually attempted an invasion of the island, i assume you're referring to the Battle of Guningtou where overstretched ROC units attempted to force a rushed crossing into Kinmen as a stepping stone to Taiwan, and were repulsed. a minor engagement that was mere prelude to a more serious campaign that never came.
also, the China of 2021 is not the China of 1950. battle between Communist and Kuomintang have little relevance to what would occur in a conflict between China and Taiwan today. Taiwan has a modern, professional military with an American-trained officer and NCO corps at its beating heart, and the terrain is defensible. but China spends 21 times what Taiwan does on defense. it is improbable in the extreme they could hold out in the face a sustained mainland attack without third-party intervention, though the fighting would be a bloody nightmare.
What the eff
Why are Democrats so intent on killing brown people
A Republican got us into the business, did they just decide they liked it?
you fellas are aware this was in retaliation for those Iranian-backed militias attacking U.S. troops in the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq yes, a pro-American territory whose authorities and people desire our presence to protect them from their occasionally-genocidal neighbors.
