Saudi Arabia has sentenced five of the scapegoats hit men to death that were on trial for the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.

Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the Saudi government, was killed inside the kingdom's consulate in the Turkish city of Istanbul by a team of Saudi agents.

The Saudi authorities said it was the result of a "rogue operation" and put 11 unnamed individuals on trial.

A UN expert said the trial represented "the antithesis of justice".

"Bottom line: the hit-men are guilty, sentenced to death. The masterminds not only walk free. They have barely been touched by the investigation and the trial," Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard wrote on Twitter.

A senior aide, Saud al-Qahtani, was sacked and investigated over the killing but not charged "due to insufficient evidence", the public prosecution said. Former Deputy Intelligence Chief Ahmad Asiri was put on trial but acquitted on the same grounds.

Saudi Arabia's crown prince Mohammed bin Salman is accused of being involved in hacking Jeff Bezos' phone after it's discovered that Salman's WhatsApp account was involved.

They said Mohammed bin Salman should also be investigated for "continuous, direct and personal efforts to target perceived opponents".

A message from a phone number used by the prince has been implicated in a breach of Mr Bezos's data.

Mr Bezos's phone was hacked after he received a WhatsApp message in May 2018 that was sent from the crown prince's personal account, according to the Guardian newspaper, which broke the story.

An investigation into the data breach reportedly found that the billionaire's phone began secretly sharing huge amounts of data after he received the encrypted video file.

In a statement, Ms Callamard and Mr Kaye said: "The information we have received suggests the possible involvement of the crown prince in surveillance of Mr Bezos, in an effort to influence, if not silence, the Washington Post's reporting on Saudi Arabia."

The experts linked the case heavily to the Khashoggi murder, saying the Post reporter's phone had been hacked at the same time as Mr Bezos's.

They said there had been "a massive, clandestine online campaign against Mr Bezos and Amazon, apparently targeting him principally as the owner of the Washington Post".

A French history textbook that has been in use since last November links 9/11 to the CIA.

The book History of the 20th Century in Flash Cards is aimed at undergraduate students.

The textbook is described as a complete course on the last century in French, European and world history. It was written by Jean-Pierre Rocher, a teacher of history and geography and a graduate of the Sciences Po university in Paris, and aimed at Sciences Po undergraduates as well as students preparing for France's elite "grandes écoles".

On page 204 the author explains the context of the creation of the jihadist group, al-Qaeda and the "quadruple terrorist attack of 11/9 2001 on New York and Washington". He then makes the following statement.

"This global event - no doubt orchestrated by the CIA (secret services) to impose American influence on the Middle East? - hit the symbols of American power on its own territory."

A protest held in Canada over the extradition of Huawei exec Meng Wanzhou to the U.S. used paid actors.

Julia Hackstaff told local media she thought she had taken a job as a background extra.

Instead she found herself holding a placard outside the Vancouver courthouse where telecoms executive Meng Wanzhou was to appear for an extradition hearing.

As the hearing was due to commence on Monday morning, a small group of protesters stood outside the British Columbia supreme court.

They held similar looking signs with phrases like "Free Ms Meng", "Equal Justice", and "Bring Michael home".

The last slogan is an apparent reference to two Canadian nationals - Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor - who were detained in China shortly after Ms Meng's arrest in Canada.

An acquaintance contacted her through Facebook on Sunday with an acting job as a background performer for the next morning, she told several Canadian news outlets.

The pay for two hours was C$100 ($76; £58).

25 year old Indian man arrested after raping a 5 yr old on the grounds of the U.S. embassy in India.

The girl, who was assaulted on Saturday morning, is in a stable condition. Doctors have confirmed she was raped.

Her family lives on the grounds of the embassy, where her father works as a member of the housekeeping staff.

Police said the accused, a driver, is not employed by the embassy. However, he lives with his parents in the embassy's staff quarters as his father works there.

The families of the accused and the victim knew each other well, according to investigators, who told the Hindustan Times newspaper that he "lured" the girl to his house when he saw her playing outside. His parents were away at the time of the attack.

When the girl returned home, she told her mother what had happened. She was immediately taken to hospital, where, police said, doctors confirmed that she had been raped.

India has a law that anyone that rapes a child is sentenced to death. Child rape is so prevalent in India that one out of every four rapes involves a child.

The party's longest standing goal is reunification and they've stated that they won't approve of any coalition in Parliament that doesn't have sending a unification referendum to London by 2025 as a goal.

They won a plurality of the popular vote but have no chance at forming a governing coalition because the moderate parties got more than 50% and will just combine.
