Wait where does it say because of anti-vaxxers? Reading the article makes it sound like a combination of insurance, them being already overprescribed and OTCs.

Law Firms are Sending Advertisements to ER Patients via Cell Phones while they're in the ER
The technology behind the ads, known as geofencing, or placing a digital perimeter around a specific location, has been deployed by retailers for years to offer coupons and special offers to customers as they shop. Bringing it into health care spaces, however, is raising alarm among privacy experts.

"It's really, I think, the closest thing an attorney can do to putting a digital kiosk inside of an emergency room," says digital marketer Bill Kakis, who runs the Long Island, N.Y.-based firm Tell All Digital.

The advertisers identify someone's location by grabbing what is known as "phone ID" from Wi-Fi, cell data or an app using GPS.

Once someone crosses the digital fence, Kakis says, the ads can show up for more than a month — and on multiple devices.

To Kakis, this is just modern-day target marketing. In his pitch to potential clients, in an email reviewed by WHYY, he calls the technology "totally legit."

I have a coworker who just found out that her nephew died after getting back from a trip to Vegas. Current running hypothesis is heat stroke.

How, uh, careful are the authorities about preventing family members of people who ODed on heroin from claiming an OD was a suicide?

That's probably a substantial confounding factor here. The difference between an OD and a suicide is only intent, which generally family members (and certainly not the authorities) will not be privy to.

And of course, drug overdose is a method of suicide on its own.

The W.H.O. Announce the "Gaming Disorder," A Mental Health Issue for Compulsive Video Game Players
In its latest revision to an international disease classification manual, the U.N. health agency said Monday that classifying "Gaming Disorder" as a separate condition will "serve a public health purpose for countries to be better prepared to identify this issue."

Dr. Shekhar Saxena, director of WHO's department for mental health, said WHO accepted the proposal that Gaming Disorder should be listed as a new problem based on scientific evidence, in addition to "the need and the demand for treatment in many parts of the world."

Dr. Mark Griffiths, who has been researching the concept of video gaming disorder for 30 years, said the new classification would help legitimize the problem and strengthen treatment strategies.

"Video gaming is like a non-financial kind of gambling from a psychological point of view," said Griffiths, a distinguished professor of behavioral addiction at Nottingham Trent University. "Gamblers use money as a way of keeping score whereas gamers use points."

He guessed that the percentage of video game players with a compulsive problem was likely to be extremely small — much less than 1 percent — and that many such people would likely have other underlying problems, like depression, bipolar disorder or autism.
