Dustin Brown is quieting all the naysayers about his contract. 4G 3A through 5 games. Kopitar with 4G 4A. Also the Power Play woke up and started scoring after going 0-10+ in the first 3 games or something along those lines.

Stevens is giving the D-men the green light to activate. Despite the more active offense, I have been seeing a lot more odd-man rushes going the other way. And I think it's an ok compromise since that was the formula that got the cup in 2012 - leaning more on Quick to bail out the team and grinding more on the offensive zone. Of course it can backfire (see the Calgary OT winner, edge case, 3-on-3) but on 5-on-5, I think Kings have only given up 1 goal on an odd-man rush and that was on Martinez getting back up to game speed after opening the first 4 games on IR.

But I do agree, that entire game Brown, Kopitar and the college kid who’s name I currently forget looked dangerous as hell. The team looked totally different compared to the last couple seasons.

Alex Iafallo. Kid brings speed to compliment Kopitar and Brown's size and grinding. With Gaborik on the shelf for a while, this will be his time to shine. And playing 1st line minutes really shows how much confidence Luc and Stevens have on him to produce and make space.

Abdelkater gets hooked and goes down into Vasilevski, Detroit scores, Tampa challenges, goal called back for goalie interference and a penalty assessed for the hook, then Detroit says what the fuck, penalty gets changed to a penalty shot, Abdelkater scores.

That being said, inb4 Flames ownership threatens to move before ultimately selling to a better owner who compromises and comes to a good agreement with the city and together build a new arena that works for both the team and the city financially.

I called out some of my local friends on FB about how Flames ownership is acting and their responses were more or less "SHHHHH I NEED THE FLAMES IN MY LIFE I DONT CARE"

Atleast now I know the taxes I pay wont go towards making a billionare richer.

The consensus that I found on reddit and the HFboards and etc was that most fans on there were fed up to the point that all threats of relocation by the team were met with "good riddance".

And considering how Calgary voted, the majority (albeit, slim majority >_>) of people in Calgary think the same.

Jets didn't have a three game win streak until like..half the season was over last year. It's hard to imagine they keep it going sooooooo... I am prepared for a shellacking!
