The meaning has been obfuscated, but the irony is that Trump speaking out about it brought it back to the forefront.

I think the original kneelers like Eric Reid will gladly take the attention and opportunity to clarify their reasoning again.

The games are pretty bad in person. I think they parade out at least one veteran each quarter, ideally disabled, all the while flying dat MURIKA in digital form across the stadium's ribbon board. We all clap and cheer for what I'm not always sure. It's like a military celebration/conference with $10 cans of shitbeer. Nixing the anthem is the last thing that would happen; the league can't breakup from this relationship.
