Cavs D right now is an abomination to mankind. We've gone thru this cycle ever year under the assumption the Cavs will "flip the switch" come playoffs but man, their D is soooooo fucking bad.

Yeah, it's worse this year though. Unless they get some personnel upheaval, they simply don't have enough players that can defend. I think they're vulnerable tomboys celtics and raptors barring a trade with the nets pick

NBA drama is amazing right now:

Cavs have a meeting where they all yell at each other, questioning Love missing a game and practice with illness. There are different factions on the team all blaming different people for the team's issues

Wall vs. Barea - Wall calls Barea a little midget after the Mavs crush them. Barea says "Now I have somebody in the NBA that I don't like... but his teammates don't like him either so that's nothing new." BOOM

Different reports surrounding Spurs, some saying there's a rift between Kawhi and team regarding his injury recovery. Now Jalen Rose saying he wants to leave since the Spurs can't get any stars to put around him. Is Kawhi secretly a mute version of Kobe/MJ?

That crazy clippers/rockets fight. Now rockets/GS trash talk which isn't as crazy but involves Durant getting butthurt over a pretty innocent Capela quote ("we're better than them")

That's what I'm talking about, his butthurt response making lame trash talk at Capela.

I haven't ever been a Durant hater but it's getting close. He might be the most sensitive player in the NBA. I never had a problem with him going to GS from a human perspective as I'm sure his quality of life and job satisfaction is WAY higher, but you have to know there will be backlash and take it in stride.

Boogie pops the stat lines but he's playing with another top-15 guy in Davis and the Pellies are barely struggling above .500. i was always something of a Boogie stan but i'm starting to doubt he plays winning basketball (or if he does he needs a radically different roster around him), for all his talent he hemorrhages turnovers, is chronically averse to getting back in transition, and has shown 0 ability to anchor a defense himself.

the Brooklyn 1st rounder they have would get them 90% of the players in the league, dunno if they're willing to part with it though. could become the cornerstone player of a post-Bron era.

tho Jordan says no-no on a Kemba trade without getting an all-star back.

I don't trade it if I'm them unless I can get someone like Boogie, who is risky but makes you more of a title contender. Even then, it's going to really, really suck when LeBron leaves and you don't have that pick

I don't think Kemba or DJ move the needle enough.

Well, it would give them a higher ceiling and let them bully whichever of GS/Houston they would meet in the finals. But yes, they would be betting on bron getting him to try in the playoffs. Lack of effort isn't helping but their main problem is they aren't good on D even if they try.

In other news, the Celtics are falling back down to earth and their offense has been the worst in the NBA during their swoon
