I'm not saying any of them are good or bad runners, I just find it hilarious that people are complaining about one minority being pandered to while simultaneously arguing for another minority to be pandered to. Whether or not they claim to be trans has nothing to do with how good or bad they are at their respective games and it also has nothing to do with who gets which time slots. "Yo I'm not a bigot but fuck all these gross-looking trannies" sums up most of this thread, and I'm pretty confident several of the people making those comments are in fact themselves visible minorities.

Yes, everyone should look semi-put together for an event like this. But no one is blasting every fat guy with a neck beard on the couch or every dude who walks up there looking like he dressed himself in a parachute and glued his pubic hair to his face.

I don't care about getting the handicapped guy a new slot either. I haven't seen him play, though, so maybe that could change.

And while I didn't post it, I saw Sent at the interview tables showing prIzes and dude obviously needed to shower and get his shit together. I'm going to attribute it to not getting much down time while running the event, but taking 15-20 minutes to shower and get some fresh clothes on isn't asking for much.

Not to mention Rata mentioned the KH: BBS runners huge man tits. I also don't care about the couch quite as much as the runners themselves. Do you have to be the runner and his couch wearing suits? No, but at least a clean shirt and pants that fit well, a comb through the hair, and a beard trimming would be good.

I always love when they do races on composite-output consoles. Always that slight tinted difference between screens due to the analog signal/cable connection/hardware-difference quality.

Tried to take a short nap before Mega Man relay race, missed 3/4 of it. VOD usually takes an hour or so, right?

It's not even the fact the one runner is handicapped. I just enjoy the shit out of oddball runs in general. Eg. 2-player 1-controller, blindfold, single-player co-op runs.

I bet a lot of people there for the GDQ probably feel similar... but I wonder if they might be trying to get people to come hoping for drama

And speaking of gimmick-runs, 2-games-1-controller of Punch-Out & Super Punch-Out next. The Mega Man relay was pretty tight given the deaths and mishaps. Was surprised they ended up as close as they did altogether at the end.

Some of these arguments remind me of a fight I got in on guildwork a few years back. Someone was a piece of shit. I called out the piece of shit. Someone says they're trans. Suddenly, I get attacked for being "transphobic" despite it not even being part of the original issue. The issue wasn't that they were trans, it was that they were a piece of shit. Basically, fuck you Jinjo.

It's kinda the same here. Nobody gives a fuck that they're trans. What they do care about is that PMG is a piece of shit that has shat all over GDQ and helped turn it in a safe space hug factory. Twitch chat in particular doesn't care who you are or what you do until you get triggered and attack people over it.
