Super Dram is always fucking super entertaining. Breath of the Wild run always has neat stuff in it too.
I wish that I'd caught more stuff that weren't basically the same thing I watch every time. This event had me more checking here or on reddit to find out if there was something good rather than finding out myself. I'll always watch a bunch of Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, Mega Man, TMNT, and Donkey Kong at least, but mostly 5th gen consoles or earlier. This event there wasn't a ton in the way of things that I bothered with that I seem to see every 6 months in this setting. Off the top of my head:
Resident Evil 7, RE3 Race
Battletoads
Batman race
Titenic (lol)
Then of course bonus ones like Punch-Out and Dram 2, which were absolute highlights for me.
Also, the Strider tutorial thing was cool as something different. I love how that inspired people to give it a go and found a new glitch. I guess that's still a decent amount that I watched, but in past GDQs, I'd tend to at least have the stream in a tab almost any time I was in front of a computer so I could catch some random and unexpected fun things, but just never bothered this time. Oh well. Maybe it'll be a different case in the summer.
SGDQ June 24th-July1st
I tuned out after the dram run. So they pulled in a grand total of $2,263,093! They broke last year's record by about 40k. Interesting that sgdq is earlier than usual. I guess some of that has to do with venue availability, since they have to make arrangements so far in advance.
Guess they learned after doing that two consecutive years. Both times it was right before evo too.
