I remember Zoe Saldana accidently saying the film subtitle was "Infinity Gauntlet". Makes more sense if they're building their own. I can also see them using "4vengers 4ever" and wanting to keep it under wraps so comic buffs won't know what the plot is based on. Until the trailers, anyway.

My big question now is which OG Avenger gives his/her life for the soul stone. Do the same rules even apply in an alternate universe/reality? Seems difficult to write around as I don't see Tony tossing Pepper off a cliff to get the stone or any other Avenger doing that. Plus it's something we saw already in Infinity War.

That's already been done before after all a few times (hell the council of Reeds has multiple gauntlets)... but they've been established to only work in their own universe. They going to go to make another cinema only universe with it's own special stones that break that rule?

Yeah I know... That's completely accounted for in my question. That's the entire point of having the movies be their own universe. It stops working when you go to another established one though

That would still be a semantical retcon at a minimum. You'd have to change an explicitly stated "will not work outside of their native universe" to well we only thought that because we hadn't found a universe they would work in or universes stones that are different so they will yay. And that sounds like a cop out. Hence why I think they'd have to establish a Marvel cinematic multiverse or do a large amount of hand waving or fans need to do their research before starting rumors.
