I just hate time travel as a plot device in general. It almost always ends up as an incoherent mess.
Than again, Marvel loves to throw misdirection for their upcoming mega movies. So this could all be bullshit too.
Regardless of when the movie it set, I hope they don't gloss over the Steve and Tony reunion. To offscreen that moment would be a crime
Problem with time travel. No problem with time stone. K.
The time stone has been used pretty sparingly. Nothing so far to completely deus ex Machina the entire plot, or becoming your own grandfather.
Time travel really is one of the only ways to fix the snap without too many issues, but yeah it's a crummy plot device. The biggest problem I have honestly is if it's really set 5 years after snap, then time travel is even worse because it basically invalidates ANYTHING we may see in the film because it will all be undone at the end so why even care? That or it's the route where they have someone go back, fix snap then return and everything is different. So they can basically do anything they want and say "Oh effects of time travel" which also sucks and pretty much always terrible. I really hope this stuff isn't true, but not holding my breath.
It's really not hard to fix the snap. Someone else puts on the gauntlet and snaps everything back. Bonus points if they can't necessarily handle the energy and go out in heroic fashion, thus writing them out of the movies (looking at you Chris Evans)
it's not like they have a mold or something.
The gauntlet was all burned but the gems still function since they all lit up when he escaped, could be like a “one more major use and it explodes” kind of thing.
I don't think a second snap would undo all the damage that's going to be caused by half the population disappearing. You'd need time travel for something like that.
Marvel movies still generally follow established plot points from major comic storylines, and time travel wasn't needed when Thanks wiped out half the universe there.
I thought the comics was fixed with Dr. Strange and Time Gem shenanigans?
