Cause the fact that people in power do these things is so well established that they're generic tropes in our stories, "Sleazy hollywood exec", "perverted business person", etc.
Like, it's clear that for a long time we as a society recognized these things were happening frequently and just chose to ignore it.

The only thing that's changed is we're now more willing to give accusers the benefit of the doubt without evidence to backup their stories, which very very much has its own dangers, but at the pendulum was swung a little too far in the opposite direction in the past, so this at least moves it more in the right direction.
