Ant-Man & The Wasp will be the final film available for streaming on Netflix. Beginning with Captain Marvel, all subsequent Marvel films will be on the Disney streaming service exclusively. There are currently no plans to move the Netflix Marvel series, and if the rumors of the Disney streaming service not carrying ANY R rated content are true, they likely will always remain on Netflix.
This better be like...$3/mo...
When the Fox deal is finalized, Disney will hold a majority stake (60%) in Hulu. Disney CEO Bob Iger said on the company’s earning call this week that you’d likely see the more adult oriented content shifted to Hulu, in an attempt to keep the Disney stream family friendly. He also noted the Disney stream would “eventually” incorporate content from National Geographic. He then also mentioned the possibility of offering a bundle service for those who wanted the Disney stream, Hulu, and ESPN+ rather than paying for them separately.
Variety is reporting that Marvel Studios is planning live action series for several side characters who have appeared in the MCU, specifically Loki & Scarlet Witch. The series are projected to be 6-8 full length episodes, and they are expected to include the original MCU actors, Tom Hiddleston & Elizabeth Olson, respectively. The article states that Marvel has no interest in doing series for main cast characters such as Captain America or Iron Man, and instead want to focus on side characters. Most interesting is the suggestion that it will be handled by Marvel Studios (not Marvel TV), and that Kevin Feige himself will be the guiding hand of development with a budget akin to a normal MCU release. All to be on the new Disney streaming service.
Maybe they can finally get Marvel's Most Wanted greenlit only now have an actual Hawkeye & Mockingbird show.
I would like a Hawkeye & Loki buddycop show please.
I agree, Loki is at his best when he has a buddy to troll.
Except it always ends up with Hawkeye trolling him, in the end.
Disney Reveals the Official Name for Their Streaming Service - Disney+, Confirms Loki Series and Announces Rogue One Prequel Series
https://www.thewaltdisneycompany.com...aming-service/The Walt Disney Company’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service will be called Disney+. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed the service’s name today during a live audio webcast of Disney’s fiscal full year and fourth quarter 2018 financial results. Disney+ is scheduled to launch in the U.S. in late 2019.
Iger also announced that Lucasfilm is in development on a second Star Wars live-action series for Disney+ that will go into production next year. The series will follow the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor, which he originated in the 2016 film. “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.” The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series will be announced at a later date.
Disney+ is also assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston.
The new projects join an impressive slate of films and series planned for Disney+ that includes new stories set in the worlds of Disney•Pixar’s Monsters Inc. and Disney Channel’s High School Musical, as well as a galaxy far, far away. Earlier this year, Lucasfilm revealed that Emmy®-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau will write and executive produce The Mandalorian for Disney+. The live-action series, which is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, is currently in production with a lineup of directors that include Deborah Chow (Marvel’s Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Taika Waititi (Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok).

Disney truly is becoming our entertainment monopoly overlords.
JUST TELL US ALREADY WHETHER YOU ARE GOING TO PUT DARKWING DUCK, RESCUE RANGERS, LILO & STITCH, ETC. ON THIS THING.
Couldn’t think of a more appropriate place for this. Disney has reached $7 billion at the box office this year for a second time (previously occurred in 2016). The studio made most of the money off Marvel, with huge returns from Avengers Infinity War and Black Panther, with a decent showing from Ant-Man & The Wasp. Disney also received major contributions from The Incredibles 2, Ralph Breaks The Internet, Christopher Robin, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Also helping contribute to the total were Coco and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which both released in Dec 2017 but continued bringing in money for several weeks into 2018. Disney is also projecting a $65 million box office for Mary Poppins Returns, opening next week, through Christmas.

Due to an agreement with Netflix, Marvel characters of cancelled shows cannot appear in non-Netflix properties for 2 years after their show ends.
RIP
It just means they get a 2 year vacation, do some movie/limited series passion projects.

Instead of replying to the other bumped threads, just asking here:
Anyone else not really hyped? Like, I want to be. But I think fatigue might be starting to hit. Either that, or needing to sub to D+ or go tubing in the waters doesn't really make me look forward to all these.
