Coming to Japan March 29, 2018

• The standard edition will cost 5,990 yen. The Premium Fan Box limited edition will cost 9,490 yen, and include a fan book, drama CD, and theme song CD.
• Shining Resonance Re:frain will feature all of the more than 150 pieces of downloadable content from the original release packaged into the game, as well as a new theme song and costumes.
• In the new “Refrain Mode,” you can enjoy the “what if” story for Excela Noa Aura and Jenius Aeon, who were unable to become party members in the original game.
• The last boss of the first chapter is easier to defeat.
• If you lose in battle, you can restart from before the event.
• Rinna Mayfield’s AI has been made a bit smarter as to refrain from plunging into the enemy.
• Request rewards and completed quests have been made easier to understand.
• Fromage’s navigation can be switched off.
• Dialogue text has been added when moving on the field.
• When Shining series producer Tsuyoshi Sawada, the series came to a pause, but Sega’s Makoto Suzuki said “rather, let’s start from here,” and restarted the series.
• The resolution has increased and it runs at 60 frames per second.
• The main story has not been changed. Images of Refrain Mode will be revealed in the second week. The volume is much greater than dates with the other characters from the original story. New voices have also been recorded.
• The limited edition will have more content than the limited edition of Blade Arcus from Shining. Character designer Tony Taka wants to see a Shining revival. He hopes that Re:frain can be seen as the start of it all.
• The new theme song is called “Towairo no Aria” and sung by Kirika Towa Alma (voiced by Saori Hayami) and Sonia Blanche (voiced by Asami Seto).
• Tony Taka designed two new swimsuit costumes, the “Black Lotus Swimsuit” and “Red Lotus Swimsuit.”
• There will be a Sega Store-exclusive pack including a figure of Kirika Towa Alma wearing the new “Black Lotus Swimsuit.”
• Producer Makoto Suzuki says that up until now they have been developing for Asian territories, but that he wants to send it out to the entire world.
• Development is currently 90 percent complete.

Shining Bujingai would just be CG videos of Gackt (which hilariously autocorrects to "Tacky") for 16 hours and I would play it non-stop for a month if it meant they'd release Shining Force III complete at the end.

Coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X and PC for Steam, Shining Resonance Refrain will tell the tale of sword-wielding Yuma and his friends as they fight the Empire. This marks the return of the Shining series to the West for the first time in a decade.

Remastered with New Refrain Mode

Shining Resonance Refrain remasters the original Shining Resonance, previously released on PlayStation 3 only in Japan, and features dual audio with English and Japanese voices. In addition to all of the original’s DLC, now included as part of the base “Original Mode,” Shining Resonance Refrain packs a new “Refrain Mode,” unlocking the Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas as party members for a new experience – just be sure to save this for your second playthrough to avoid any spoilers!

With real-time action combat, it will be important to utilize each party member’s unique abilities and strengths while deepening relationships with each character. Through events and dates, get to know your party members to unlock their full potential on the battlefield! Depending on the bonds of the characters, “Resonance” may occur between them, providing a new level of support, leading to victory.

Master the B.A.N.D. System

Dragoneers wield Armonics, ancient weapon-instruments, in order to perform mystical and powerful Rune Songs. Once you build enough BPM (Battle Performance Mana), your party will be able to perform a session through the B.A.N.D. system. Depending on which song you play and which character you set at the center, your party will be able to indulge in various beneficial effects. Certain characters may even perform the song in a special costume!

Draconic Launch Edition

Those who purchase the launch edition of Shining Resonance Refrain on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, will receive the game in a collectible metal slipcase, featuring character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika.

Shining Resonance Refrain will be available for $49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD and will be released this summer.

Our Story So Far...

Yuma has the soul of the Shining Dragon within him, transforming into the ancient beast by unleashing the power conducted through his sword. Dragons, long thought to be extinct, make Yuma a target for the Empire. To use him against the kingdom of Astoria, The Empire captures Yuma. Sonia, princess of Astoria, launches a rescue mission with the help of the Dragoneers. Hearing about the plight of Astoria and their fight to save their land, Yuma decides to aid them. Price seems a bit high for a game that originally came out 3 years ago in Japan on PS3. But I might end up getting this eventually after some price drops.
