I know what you meant though. The sequels would have been 13849823489x better if Maul was alive through all 3.

I think Disney bought Star Wars in 2012 and Maul was in Clone Wars in 2013. I think Clone Wars TV show is canon, but could be wrong.

Edit: Just looked it up -

"As of April 25, 2014, the only previously published materials that are considered canon are the six Star Wars films, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series and film, and the stand-alone Dark Horse Comics arc Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir."

After I left the theater, a guy in front of me was complaining:

"What did I just watch? Because that wasn't Star Wars. Why was it funny? Empire Strikes Back is such a gangster movie. What the hell was that???"

The show started really bad, so there is a lot to get through, but it eventually got really good. I have missed a ton of it too and need to download it.

I won't go as far as saying that much -- it's definitely Star Wars, just one going into a very new direction. And hopefully the final movie in this trilogy has a solid footing on what it wants to be as well as ending.

Everyone expected this movie to be on par with Empire Strikes Back. The reality is that nothing on this earth will ever touch Empire Strikes Back quality. The sooner people realize this the better off they will be, but I'm afraid this will never happen. Nostalgia runs too deep with this IP.

I'm with you bro, 100%. The reality is that people have no clue what they want, especially when it comes to Star Wars. It's just a shame that Episode 7 & 8 so far have been mixed results either way due to Disney shennanigans.

I'm just happy that the movie was a fun enough ride to want to go see it again next week.

I'm going again on Sunday. Yesterday was a fluke. I bought tickets an hour before in an empty theater lol No regrets either way. I didn't want any more spoilers. I got some from a post on r/all on reddit >_>
