The Open Beta network test is live until Sunday night if you want to test the game out. Only managed a couple matches so far and the game feels smooth. Haven't noticed any slowdown or rollbacks yet. As far as the actual game, I legit forgot how to play a Soul Calibur lmao.

edit: Jinxed the fuck out of myself. Taking like 10 mins to get a match now and the last 2 were laggy > disconnects.

Got some matches in, won a few with Talim. I can’t wait to shake off the rust fully, but she feels mostly like she did in SC2, so i might pop that in to get some practice.

Also, Nightmare is unbelievably fast considering big sword.

This is why Nightmare is usually a beast. If you let him get warmed up he will steam roll the shit out of you.

Arrived today, had forgotten.

Happy to see theres single player modes. Looks like 2 story modes, one for created character and one for everyone. I also didn't realize they were rebooting the series into a new timeline with this game. 5 was just that bad lol

May have to pick this up eventually. Loved the first two, 4 was kind of meh, never played 5.

5 was an ok combat system and while the new kids (not-taki, not-xianghua, not-kilik, sophitia's 2 kids being 4 characters on the roster and the one you play as for the most part uses SETSUKA style of all things) were not great, they filled a function I guess. I kind of liked Pyrrha. 5 had fuck-all for single player modes though. Probably the worst you could say about 5 is that it discarded regulars like Zas, Yun, and Talim.

Also I dig 5's character select theme.
