This legitimately makes me sad. Fucking loved the guy and I still watch his shows routinely. Especially when I have a trip to that location. Got to meet him on a few occasions and he always came off so well versed in reality. So well aware of his own mortality. He easily had the best job on the planet, but sometimes our demons are just too great to bare.

Eh, he didn't. He was pretty upfront about not drinking much outside of the show anymore. He talked about it in his last AMA.

I read somewhere just this week online that Williams had some kind of super dementia that wasn't known until after the autopsy. Docs misdiagnosed it as early stage Parkinson's disease but it was apparently worse. Like 90% of his brain's prions were fried. He was likely hallucinating every waking moment.
