Jesus fuck. Is it too much to ask to have someone whose been influential on millions of people to just pass away naturally and peacefully at a ripe old age instead of in the most painful and horrible ways imaginable
Extremely saddened. I think i’ll watch the opening of Wrestlemania 3 where Aretha sang America the Beautiful. RIP Aretha.
Heard about Aretha today, RIP.
On another topic, RIP to the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise without James Gunn.
Counts as a celebrity death amirite?
Cab Calloway with Minnie the Moocher is pretty amazing, too.
John Lee Hooker is also awesome. The whole movie is a musical gem.
Obligatory Aretha scene.
My personal favorite is A rose is still a rose. Just like MJ's passing.. gonna take some time before I'm ready to listen to her music again. :[
@TsingTao - I came to post the same thing
Legit tears rewatching this
She had to have had the cancer for a long time before they even announced she was going into hospice care. Another one of the legends of music gone.
She had a tumor removed in 2010. People speculated it was cancer but she denied it and went along with life. Apparently that included fighting pancreatic cancer away from public scrutiny.
The fact that she was able to keep it fairly quiet and out of the public eye is impressive. Everyone knows everyone else's shit these days.
Unshō Ishizuka, Japanese voice actor of Professor Oak, Zabuza, Hoenheim, Jet Black, Mr. Satan, And a hundred others died of esophageal cancer.
Voice actor dying of throat cancer. Fuck you life. He put in that work and will be missed.

Isn’t the current VA for English Frieza suffering from a similar issue?
He has COPD, so basically his lungs are running on 5 minutes of Namekian time.
All depends on his baseline function.
