While I have no doubt it would be a clusterfuck, such measures are something I do feel like America is going to have to entertain in the near future. Especially if every presidential election is a rehash of City vs. Rural in terms of needs and values.

I listened to a internet Sem Seder did with uh David Faris (Its time to play dirty: How democrats can build a lasting majority) and one of the ideas he proposed was splitting up California into multiple states but in a way that retains a democratic majority in each state so they have more seats in the senate. But the problem with supporting a cal split for that reason is you have the current attempt that would produce a republican state.

PPL in California are dumb and they'll fuck it up somehow anyway.
