Shit's scattered thru but the tl;dr. Guy who didn't have a license, who has some prior unspecified criminal record, had stayed up until 1 A.M. before getting up to drive to work, who was driving because his dad was too tired too lol, falls asleep at the wheel and kills someone only gets 1 month jail work release, 3 years probation and some community service.

Rodriguez-Lopez (the driver) experienced “pretty severe depression” after the crash and I think the sentence was fair.

It’s hard to call it an accident, because he did fall asleep and he shouldn’t have, But unfortunately in life, these kinds of things happen, and the tragedy that comes out of it is a really hard part to understand

An Alberta, CA brewery mistakenly named their beer after the Maori (New Zealand natives) for pubic hair. The brewers thought the word meant "feather."

Hell's Basement Brewery in Alberta said it released its Huruhuru pale ale two years ago, thinking it meant "feather".

But Maori TV personality Te Hamua Nikora pointed out the common interpretation of the word in a Facebook video.

The brewery's founder said the product would now be rebranded.

"We acknowledge that we did not consider the commonplace use of the term huruhuru as a reference to pubic hair, and that consultation with a Maori representative would have been a better reference than online dictionaries," Mike Patriquin told Canadian network CBC.

Actor Rick Moranis of "Ghostbusters" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" was attacked by an unknown assailant near New York City's Central Park on Thursday, three law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the attack told NBC New York.

The 67-year-old actor and comedian was reportedly walking when the suspect punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.

According to the NYPD, Moranis took himself to the hospital before later reporting the incident to police, NBC New York reported.

He was my neighbor when I was like 4 or 5 (too young to remember). They used to come over for dinner and such on occasion. Parents always spoke very highly of them and my dad stayed in touch until he had his stroke.
