People were rushing to Max level then and they're rushing to Max level now. Yes.

However, a lot more players actually knew how to play their jobs in a party setting back then when they hit Max level, which can't be said now.

I disagree with that statement and assert the opposite notion.

"They actually learned to play their jobs back then [generally in an XP party]" is to me, the Trickle Down Economics tier argument of FFXI. Goblins in Bibiki, Skeletons in in KRT, lollibri, etc did not teach anyone much in the way of practical knowledge. As if the "I leveled both ways up hill to learn how to low-man Salvage farm" sort of mentality is anything more than the misguided musings of someones reshared opinion.

This is along the lines of what I was getting at as well.

The whole rash of arguments on basic things like "ACES HELM SUCKS!!!" or "W TURBAN VS O HAT!" or even better, "DOMARUUUUU~" are incredibly dumb by today's standards.

Poor party composition is not a valid reason.

If you need -na from your BLMs to "help your healer" then something is wrong.

I was in Machina wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day.

I would say people didn't know their jobs as well then as they do now.

But tbh, I think that has more to do with the access to information and the interest of dealing with gearswap/spellcast/etc. that exists now, and didn't exist then.

Judging by what has been said, it is that same sort of faintly veiled condescending elitism from the type of people who acted like they knew better then, but didn't. Now they look back at it all through the same lens.

The weapon grants it so you still don't have to quest it. The question is how close it is to other weapons while not using Impulse Drive. It isn't going to replace Stardiver or skill chaining with other WSs.

You already can replace the Dicus as it is, and this will provide more base damage, acc and atk for stardiver. Without bothering to do any thinking (when do I ever) I'd say the final AG ambuscade lance is a better weapon than what you use now.

thanks, i'll probably work on it next after finishing sword for cor. just started this char back in dec so some things are still out of reach, ambus is doable though I just didn't want to waste of points for minimal upgrade, i'll admit for some reason the impulse drive bonus had my brain thinking i would only use that lance w impulse drive, but like duh i can use stardiver with it lol
