I really enjoyed the content when it was relevant. Now, it is a bit ridiculous with the drop rates on the augments though. They had the perfect opportunity to fix it with the single NM system, but the coffers dont even give you max augmented items.

As in you cannot receive max augs ever if you do the single NM run? I was going to do some SR but I messed up when I cancelled my service. I didn't consider that all of my gear in wardrobe 3 & 4 would be locked up so I'm not really trying anything difficult during this campaign.

Nah, they can drop max augments it's just that it's still not a guarantee. You've already got a low drop rate of decanters and then you're worrying about it even being the right item.

I think it's the NPC you get the moth from where you can choose. Or, once you click the area to start the arena. If I can remember I'll try it later today. Speaking of today, thought free campaign was over 3/9/20 at 1:00 AM PST? Still kicking here.

As long as you dont log out, you wont get booted. Idk what happens if you zone.

I could have sworn there was an answer to this. If you haven't figured it out yet, it's just an option when clicking on the entrance NPC. You can choose the individual fights or Sinister Reign (3 waves). At first it just gives Arciela 1, Ingrid, and whatever the other wave 1 NM is for the options. Beat them to unlock the wave 2 options, etc.

I stopped playing regularly in January to study for the realtors exam. Only reason I really even did the free was because I passed the exam about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I won't sub after this. It's like going to Vegas for me, playing this game. It's exciting at first and you feel like you never want to do anything else but after awhile you can't wait to just go home.

Thanks! I also learned that in order to be able to do it, you have to have cleared every boss at least once. And since August seems to be bugged and not spawning... can't do it that way, lol. Guess I'm using Carmine +1 until they fix it.

Um I used to like replacing the background on the chat and the font on the characters/boxes with a mod. Is that still supported anywhere?

edit: also how do I disable the startup movie?

Chat and fonts I'm not sure about. You can disable the opening movie from Ashita's launcher, if you're using Ashita. Or, wherever you installed the game go to the Final Fantasy XI folder, ToolsUS, and open Final Fantasy XI Config.exe. From there you can disable the startup movie and other options as well. I'd imagine if using Windower you can config there too.
