Had to uninstall and delete so many things to squeeze this game onto my m2 hard drive with the high res pack. JFC even at 15mb/s its gonna take me hours to get going T_T

So I played for like 4-5 hours last night.

I'm enjoying the story, I had watched Kingsglaive so I wasn't totally out of the loop.

The mechanics are taking some getting used to for me. I've never really played with a combat system like this and my skill level is super low. That being said, I'm playing on regular and have been able to kinda stomp through things up til now.

The fishing is pretty great. The gathering is fine. The car is p dope.

Also, I stumbled onto a Cactuar and got like 7 levels off of him. Is that intended?

I'm at the part of the story when I'm supposed to be looking for the King's Tombs to get all the weapons. I have the axe and the sword so far. Should I be using them? I have the DLC so I have some Ragnarok sword that works p well too.

I would pretend the ragnarok dlc sword doesn’t exist if I were you. The weapon is stupid broken and all it does is encourage you to spam warp strikes without trying the other weapon play-styles.

To answer your other questions,

Only use the Royal weapons as stat sticks since they drain HP with every hit, there were certain ones you could use to do insane damage while using one of Ignis' techs but dunno if they have fixed that or not.

As for the Cactuar depending on your level that does sound kinda right if memory serves me, it is pretty easy to find yourself over leveled if your doing all the sidequests/hunts so use of the Nixperience Band is really handy if you wanna keep your level at a somewhat balanced place.

those are basically one of the cheat codes that one of the DLCs added. it's meant to be god mode so you can "skip all the combat" and just see the story.

I had started playing Chapter 14 via chapter select but when I went back to get the accessory for Amiger Unleashed, all my quests had reset (I knew it was gonna happen) but the OCD in me can't stand that so I've started a New Game+, to get all the datalogs as well.

Also, I don't know if it was a mistake, but a new album of music is up on iTunes, all the DLC music including tracks from Chapter 14. The release date was 21st March but I'm listening to it now so...

It also says it's 1 of 2 but the other isn't up as far as I can tell.

basically everything that you started with besides the basic non-ff themed weapons and the two basic outfits. All of the accessories, outfits, weapons, and fishing gear more or less

The leviathan lure is another cheat code item. Works on all fish and can't be lost

I just did "The Kings Tomb Behind The Waterfall" and unlocked Armiger, was suggested level 19. I'm at level 38 now just from doing sidequests and hunts. I guess I should do more main story at some point lol

This happened to me too lol. The nice thing is with how stats work in this game, even if you’re crazy overleveled, the bosses and mobs still aren’t going to be easily 1-shotted like any other FF game. I was way overleveled and I still found myself needing the stat boosting upgrades from the Ascension grid later on in the game

There’s a few end game mobs that give absolutely no fucks about your stats and will either one shot or insta-kill you lol.

I ran into level 52 Midgardsormr on the way to a level 19 dungeon, Prompto and I both said NOPE at the same time.

After reaching chapter 4 I realize I'd hate fishing if I had to switch my lure and line constantly like the variety from merchants suggests I should be doing. Having one rod and lure has been great, and wow so much ap over time.
