RIP Besieged as an event, 2006-2019 ‘‘twas a good run
Why they didn't make those marching mobs invulnerable is beyond me. But this is probably just an overpopulated server problem.
Are people actually ganking them before they reach the city?
What was the FFV OST mention or was it just something separate?
The solution to besieged was simply to make so the RoE requires 1 instead of 2, and raise the frequency of besieged.
Last 3 months I could never find a besieged going on when I was actually online >.>
Another time I finally found one with advancing mobs, waiting in Al Zhabi over 3 hours but nothing happened, in the end at 3:30 AM I went to bed >__>
i'm a returning noob but the jump changes are pretty sick
Just out of curiosity, is there a particular reason people care about Besieged again? All it was good for was a chunk of of EXP/Imperial Standing, which seems redundant these days. No hate, just curious.
Ah! Fair enough, I don't really pay much attention to the trove objectives. Thanks!
Wonder if Nexon being sold will impact the mobile port (or have current plans get canned entirely). Maybe it'd depend on the buyer.
Mobile is vaperware, its dead and never coming out.
In before SE buys Nexon... coming full circle!
(I'm kidding of course lol)
They would need the money themselves to do it
I dont think a mobile version of XI could ever please anyone. A console release of XI from scratch, built as an openworld solo sandbox RPG (think Dragon's Dogma/Skyrim/Divinity/Dragon Quest) where you create your character and go through all the main story quests (slightly re-tooled so they all segue into eachother) would be cool. Party members would be the main characters from each nation that are with you during major events (Zeid, Lion, Volker, etc). You could still change jobs but jobs would all obviously be re-tooled, as party members would be AI npcs. It would be a total stand alone remake, upgraded graphics, voice acting, and wouldn't have those MMO elements like chat logs and such, but be retooled for solo play. The combat would be menu action/RPG based like the newer Dragon Quest games.
At some point they're going to have to consider doing this once FF11 shuts down, because future generations will not be able to experience FF11 in 15-20 years, yet FF1-10 got remakes and remasters decades later. After the FF7 and potentially FF8 remake(optimistic on the latter), I wouldn't be surprised if they start remaking a AAA remake of FF11 and bill it as FFXVI or something, since some SE devs have said they'd want the next FF games to not have a lot of technology and to be high fantasy again, which FFXI fulfills (very few mechs/robots).
Would be mint if they added gambits to trusts whatever they do
