How does the XFL Draft work?
The XFL Draft will be much different than what you're used to in a typical sports draft. And it's important to note, one quarterback will be assigned to each team prior to the draft. So while teams can still draft a QB, they'll each have that position filled already.
The XFL Draft will take place in five phases.
Skill Players (QB, RB, WR, TE)
Offensive Line (OT, OG, OC)
Defensive Front Seven (DL, LB)
Defensive Backfield (CB, NB, SS, FS)
Open Draft (all remaining players after positional drafts, in addition to P/K/LS)
In phases 1-4, each team will choose 10 players for a total of 40. In Phase 5, teams will choose from the pool of remaining players to complete their roster. The league will use a "snake" draft format, which means the selection order reverses after every round.
Teams will be given 90 seconds to make a selection.
