Anyone else have an issue with their PS4 where updates will download quickly, but installs take forever (almost 30+ minutes?)

I know it probably depends on the size of the file, but the last Destiny 2 patch (which wasn't very large), took two minutes to download but 30 minutes to install.

Yeah, I dont remember what it was but the last thing I had to update which took like 3 minutes to download, took about triple that to install.

Developers of multiplayer games tell Kotaku that they’re preparing for PlayStation Network name changes to finally come soon.

Three people at three different game studios, speaking anonymously because they were not authorized to talk to press, said that in recent months they’ve been fixing bugs, tweaking settings, and ensuring that their games are compatible with Sony’s plans.

A fourth person who worked for a game studio shared a photo, obtained from internal Sony documentation, of a PSN profile containing the option “edit username.” The documentation was a guide for changing one’s name on the PlayStation Network, that person said.

We’re happy to announce that we will soon begin testing the long-awaited feature that will allow users to change their PlayStation Network Online ID from their PlayStation 4 system. The PSN Online ID Change feature beta will be a part of the PlayStation Preview Program, and will become available to select users that have pre-registered as testers for previous PS4 system software betas.

During the preview program, you will be able to change your online ID as many times as you want. The first change is free, and changes after that will cost $9.99 USD / CAD. For PlayStation Plus members, it will cost $4.99 USD/ CAD after the first change. Changes to online ID can be made through the Settings menu or via the Profile page of your PS4.

The preview program for this feature is scheduled to conclude at the end of November 2018. The full rollout of the feature to all PS4 owners is planned for early 2019, so stay tuned for updates down the road!

They must have had a hell of a cobbled-together SDK for accessing profile information if something like a name change will break shit for some PS3/Vita/early-PS4 games, since a string field (your username) having a different value should mean squat for the game. This is assuming Sony actually has numeric ID values assigned to every account.

If I remember correctly, they don't. Your unique ID is your current PSN name, that's why it has taken this long to come up with a solution and why it sounds like they're just creating a second name that you can display, not actually changing your ID.

Sony Releases a Quieter, but Warmer Version of the Pro - CUH-7200 Series

Digital Foundry have found that fan noise has been reduced from around 50dB (decibels)/55dB to around 44dB/48dB. Perhaps the difference will be minute and unnoticed to the untrained ear (i.e. myself), but those hyperaware of such characteristics may enjoy the revision for that reason. The launch model of the PS4 Pro may still run at cooler temperatures, but again, I doubt that too many would notice the difference.

Model CUH-7200 of the PS4 Pro is currently available in stores, and is the console included in the Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Pro bundle.

I really wish this month's free Hitman, with PS+, didn't require the complete download instead of just adding it to the Library. 44GB I wanted to save for other things. At least For Honor can be added to the Library.

Why does it require a download? When I added it, I assumed I just double tapped and hit download. I deleted it right after, space is a bit of a premium.
