Wilder for sure got his eardrum ruptured on that big hit, he was completely fucked after that point.
Not that he was doing great before that.

shortly: Deontay Wilder
@BronzeBomber
tells me he is definitely exercising his rematch clause for a summer trilogy against
@Tyson_Fury
, that his legs were weakened by his 45-pound costume he wore to the ring to honor Black History Month.
oh man that made me laugh p hard. ballsy of him to go for the immediate rematch.
also the UFC is giving Aldo a title shot in a division he is 0-1 in.
Fury was playing 5D chess getting carried to the ring so his legs wouldn't get tired.
Wilder also apparently weighing firing his assistant trainer (Mark Breland) who threw in the towel.
it might be a little late at 34 but Wilder could use a whole new team. neither his technique nor his game-planning have improved much since breaking out on the world stage suggesting gym stagnation and his corner sounded amateurish and lost the entire fight. 'just back him up and land the right' is not what a fighter getting beat pillar to post needs to hear.
you don't need to turn into Lomachenko to fix some obvious technical failings, and i think it clear his zero pedigree trainers have ridden him to the top without doing much to improve his craft. as stated technique aside they also failed miserably at the psychological aspect of the game with that dismal corner advice.
also i don't find any urgent need for him to retire. heavyweights age slowly and he's taken relatively little damage throughout his career, only Fury and Ortiz have really landed heavy and often on him. if he loses to Fury again he may never climb that hill but there's plenty of other fights he could nab and get paid for.
Btw bitches, prelims start on ESPN at the top of the hour for UFC 248.
So is ”faced a lot of adversity" what they call failing a bunch of drug tests now?
